All Treasure Hunting
A dream came true! A few months back my pops and I were on the hunt for a new place for some treasure hunting. The town I grew up in was founded late 1800s early 1900's and was originally vacationing area for the wealthy folks during the hot summer days which has since dwindled out. Nevertheless, we've had some pretty decent luck in the area, most of the locals know us and are usually more than happy to let us check around their properties. About a mile or so from home were recently granted permission to hunt a 10+ acre property that once had a golf course, hotel. There's still a few summer homes and a church that are still in use today. Anyway, we took with our new permission and hit the ground running and have had some amazing finds along with a few bucket listers. Here's a few of my best finds so far with the exception of a few! Between dad and I we've managed to pull two Spanish silver coins, 20+ large cents/big coppers, 40+ U.S. Silver coins, an 18k and platinum ring, 18k Religeous Pendant, Possible gold masonic piece. *Note that not all finds are pictured above*. Picture of the four big coppers, dates are 1797, 1798, 1818, and the last one wasnt legible but think its a KGIII (1760-1820). This property has been amazing, one of our best yet!

Yep. Definitely had a few dreams like that. Sucks though because i always wake up at the end. Nice date range of finds there. Found a little of everything. Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Sweet dreams for sure. Nice reale, already marked like a pie !!

Nice finds! The 7th and 8th pics look like the union brotherhood of carpenters ensignia.

That's a very cool reale. I once read a reale was worth ~12.5 cents around that time. So a half would be roughly 6ish. That's exactly how many pie slices are on that coin.

That is an amazing site. Some really good age on it looks like it was probably just after t turn of the 19th century and later! Where are the Indian heads and flying eagles?!! Gotta keep hitting that's place for sure. Congrats to you both

10 acres of pure joy I'd say, so congrats on the silvers and coppers, and the gold! These type of sites don't pop up on a regular basis so enjoy it to it's fullest, thanks for posting up your reality, so I can just go back to my dreaming.

Amazing finds. Wow! So what state are you in? Sorry if I missed it somewhere in the post...are you here in New England?

WOW, go straight to the front of the class for the best show and tell. Super awesome jaw dropping finds.
Umm umm umm...:occasion14:

sweet dreams are made of these, who am I to disagree? nice..........................:headbang::headbang:

You failed to mention the Morgan dollar you dug on the extended property of this permission and the seated's we've dug too.
This property at one time was also a seminary which would account for all the silver pendants.
What's nice about this permission is the fact we've saved treasures from the 1700's, 1800's and our newest silvers probably were the war nickles.

wow! the pics of great finds just kept coming. What an incredible spot you have

Thanks! This isn't even half of it all. I got caught up in moving so part of it is in
storage and the rest were dads finds that he dug.
Definitely an incredible spot!

There's been plenty of indians and wheats, just no flying eagles yet. There's been a great mix of coins tho, all from KG1st up to one lonesome silver rosie. Seateds, Barbers, SLQ, a Morgan Dollar, Mercs and all!
