I have noticed that quite a few people on this forum type their messages in "text speak". They write paragraph long sentences with no punctuation or grammar. WHY? Are they doing it from their phone and are too lazy to type normally? I'm no English major, but I can't stand reading these posts! I'm sure they are good people with lots of good things to say. Unfortunately, I won't be reading those posts any more. I mvd thm 2 my ignore list.

anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did

Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain

ee Cummings....{.it is all his fault...}

Looks like the Peyote tea just kicked in....:coffee2::laughing7:

I used to speech to text until I sent my secretary a message that I could have been brought up on charges for (Thank goodness she has a sense of humor and knew it was a speech to text error).
I seldom use it and always proof read. I am guilty in the past for posting from my mobile device.

Yes. Very aggravating to read. I don't want to go back 2 or 3 times to understand the post!!
I put up with Keppy and his ........., because I enjoy his input.

Who cares its a forum, not a college class. Get over its how it is.

I'm one of those anal retentive nerdy type folks that types in longhand always, even in texts, punctuation included.

Well, "I am certainly lost". I said to myself, as I read, and reread this single-word posting...But, at least, (me thinks, anyway, and nearly aloud): "I have well, and truly, punctuated this feeble attempt at written communication most properly!!!

....My teenaged niece proofread this for me and said...K

Uhhh! Looks great secretcanyon!! Now if I can just sort it out-limited mental ability on my part!! Enjoy the Day!! VERDE!

Be careful!!! I brought this up a few weeks ago and was "burned at the stake". It bothers me too, even from a phone or mobile device!

It helps a bunch to discern when a sentence begin and ends.
More so with spelling errors and abbreviations.
Sometimes a bad mix when you have gumbo personalities.
Perhaps you'll see who cares.

I am dyslexic...for real...so it takes me a whole lot to even post, let alone punchewate...
so I just ramble on...flow of thought...if I start using little tiny symbols...I get confused an people start taking to me like I am in preschool...
sorry...but as the ee Cummings poem shows...this lack of PROPER ENGLISH began when we threw the British out of north America...
I care..but can only put out so much energy for pixels on a library monitor.:notworthy:

I too have a hard time reading some of these posts that have no punctuation. I can understand spelling errors as I have made them too when using my Kindle Fire instead of the laptop. We have to remember that some of the posters are from other countries and English isn't their first language. However some of our US citizens have a hard time using the correct word usage, like (there) when they mean (their).:BangHead:

If it bothers you just don't read them, many times I don't read them either...

Just don't try to correct them about their English, that would violate our rules...
