I don't dig but I attribute and purchase hoards or single coins/relics
There will be few takers for you, unfortunately. This is because 99.99 percent of the folks who post here have never actually found a cache.

There are also a percentage on here who know that there are people out there looking to catch someone who has found a cache. And that's a fact.

True. And both are reasons that this post will not get many takers. :coffee2:

I buy over 90% of my "groups" from other coin dealers and they buy directly from metal detectorists.

I enjoy what I do and do this for a living.

I don't like to play games and I make a quick pass or play decision.

Hemming and hawing is for rookies.

I will buy one coin or 100 coins, as long as it makes sense.

Really most interested in Colonial coins dated late 1500's to about 1790's but I will buy Early US type coins: half cents and cents and half dimes and dimes and quarters and dollars and US Gold dated 1792 to the 1850's.

I will not cherrypick. I will buy your whole deal, as a deal, as a lot.

I belong to the American Numismatic Association, American Numismatic Society in New York, Royal Canadian Numismatic Association, and am an NGC authorized dealer.

Tons of reference available upon request.

How much for a: 1905 Nickel, PCGS MS65?

My friends
The best way to sell treasure to get the most for coins is to sell through a Coin Auction House. The best is:
Stack's...... www.stacks.com best of luck to you.

Major auction houses like Stacks or others usually like a minimum consignment of $100,000 with an average lot value of as high as possible,
like $25,000 or$50,000 average per lot.

A $100,000 consignment they view as doing you a favor as many consign half a miilion or millions in value.

I worked for a major auction house. They have huge overhead, like $50,000 or $100,000 per week.

My overhead is very low.

I am not interested in buying one Liberty Nickel or common Indian head cent.

I specialize in Colonials and Early US type coins from 1792 to the 1830's.

Auction houses may take your coin for consignment and make you wait 6 months until after the sale, with no guarantee that your coins will
even sell.

Also, no reserve, which means your coins could sell for very little.

Auction houses charge a 15% buyer's premium which is their take and not yours, in most but not all cases. So right away, you are giving
up 15%.

I never said I buy all coins.
I only buy coins I have a need for and coins I can pay top dollar. I am no interested in lowballing anybody.

I am very happy to make a bid on a lot of Colonial or other early coins and have you shop around.

Mr. Connectciut Sam, your question is like asking a vintage Corvette dealing if he is interested in buying a vintage Jaguar.

Let's compare apples versus apples and be nice, not try to bait somebody or try to prove how much you think you know.

I buy caches on a regular basis from the US, Canada, and Europe. I buy groups of 5 coins, 50 coins, 500 coins, sometimes one or two dug coins.

Over the past year, I have bought over 50 caches from mostly coin dealers, and a few direct metal detectorists.

I have been a full time coin dealer since 1976 and worked for a major auction house and also a few large, non-auction house rare coin firms.

For those smart alecks, I have caches of 10 coins, 100 coins, 200 coins I could sell right now from stock if I had to.

I mostly buy copper coins and some silver, and have not had the chance to buy any gold hoards or caches.

I sell retail with low overhead so I can pay a respectable price, high enough to outbid other coin dealers on a regular basis.

Rather than try to boast about who you know and how much you know, let's leave this discussion threat to the topic of buying coin caches, not trying to bait others with non-cache offers of one or two coins that were not dug.

Mr. Connecticut Sam, I have bought dug Colonials from 8 or 10 metal detectorists in Connecticut this past year, mostly onesies twosies.

Thank you!

I still think the best way to sell coins, treasures or a collection is to sell through a auction house such as Stack's.

I worked for a major auction house and they don't really like a consignment under one million dollars.
Try them and see.
Is it really necessary to be obtuse puerile numismatic neophytes with a pontificated affect?
There are more coins out there than somebody with $100 million could buy so there is no shortage.
Have a nice day

Top auctions houses accept few coins or a lot of coins. That is the way for me, if I found treasure.

I thought somebody had to be a registered business on Treasure Net before they could offer services or do business?
