Just got permission to hunt a new place that is virgin grounds and been empty for 15 years. Built around the early 1900's the lady told me. The farm is about 1 acre so I will be busy here for a while. Found some interesting relics and my first silver for 09. 2 silver quarters, 2 mercs a 1944 and a 1941, 3 Wheaties 1946, 1944 and a 1935. Found the pistol laying on top of a flower garden. Hub (Hubley) from the 1940's The license plate was also lying on top on the side of the house. The cylinder shaped object is a A. Shrader's and son's universal tire gauge with patenets of 1906 and 1908. Won't work on modern applications. Found a lid to a manicure case with coty on it. Coty was founded in 1905 and has changed names over the years. I read a brief history on it and it was popular up until the 60's. Found a cool token like thingy from the National supply co. No idea what it may have been used for. The little round object with a slit in it is brass. No idea what it is. Found a body by fisher (GM). I know these were put on older cars but no idea on it's age. One interesting aspect of the house is a huge slab of stone with a school engraved in it. I thought I took pictures of both sides but forgot to. Must have been moved there from another location. Hopefully I will pull some more silver from this place. Thanks for looking, Ron

It's a scythe handle ferrule. :)

That rock was taken from an old schoolhouse when they laid the steps for that house. Find out where that old school used to be, and you'll have another site. (Sounds like you should do some more talking to the lady in the Big house.)

That reminds me of the song from "Country Bear Jamboree" at Disney World; one of the more memorable phrases is "She ain't too heavy, don't weigh a ton." There's also "She ain't pretty, and I ain't too." I'll have to see if I can find it on YouTube. Oh, yeah, this was about silver, wasn't it? And you may just find a ton of it this season!

Dang, Ron, I knew all you had to do was get out there and swing your coil, and some good finds would be right in your pouch!

Fantastic spot! Love those old home/farm pics! :o

Keep on hunting it, my friend!

Congrats,

Great finds, Ron!! Looks like there's more to be found there too. What about the place in the last pic, looks potential?

 RR

Nice finds buddy. I bet you pop a few more out next time as well
Is that 44 merc a double date?

I didn't even notice this til some others pointed it out... could you get a really close shot of the date for the 1944 Merc? thanks... I believe alot of us want to see if you have a double die dime..

Hey crazy...do you know what the long rectangular thing that is below the coins that are right in front of the barrel of the gun? I found one just like it this weekend and I'm not sure what it is.

Looks like you've found a great spot. Your early finds are really nice. I like that little gun better than I do the silver.

I'll be waiting to see what else you come up with. Stay at it.
