I just had a great idea!

Save the money and get a sun ray.I have broke a few cheap ones and bought a vibra probe. Its not bad but then one day i spent 2 hours trying to re trace my steps thru the woods looking for it.You cant loose your sun-ray unleess u lose the whole detector. You wont need seperate batteries for a sun ray either. It will run with your detector setting so it will discrim if u want too.I wasted alot of time and money till i got the real deal. The best idea is buy the best ONE TIME.then u wont have to worry about it ever again!Good luck with your new probe .

A pinpointer that reaches 4" isn't a pinpointer!

Agreed. One problem that I have with the Garrett is that it can be too sensitive at times. You really want to be able to tell when you are very close to the item. The Garrett does a good job of this unless the item is really big and then it can get confusing. The Garrett does let you detune it to take care of this issue. Overall I think the Garrett is spectacular for the money.

Save the money and get a sun ray......You cant loose your sun-ray unleess u lose the whole detector.

So I take it the Sun-Ray is one of those pinpointers that attaches to the detector. Sounds interesting but slightly expensive. You are basically buying a pinpointer especially for your specific type of detector. If you decide to switch detectors someday then your investment potentially goes out the window. And if you want to have more than one detector or take along a friend then you can't really share. It sounds like a great pinpointer because it works with your discrimination settings.

53 people X's $5.00 = $265. Sounds like a expense pin pointer or do you need a new Ace. I also agree on the Harbor Feight one.....Matt

I was wanting the Detector Pro Pocket Uni Probe. It is 299.00 or more. That is the one I was told to get. But I was just teasing about anyone depositing money. If I can't pay for it then I don't need it.

Dang...I already had the check made out. :D

If you go with the Harbor Freight, I am ready to Paypal you my .28 share. Of course, after Paypal charges you .35 per transaction plus 3% fee of the amount, you will have a minus balance.

Give me about 3 more months. Hopefully I can MD the rest of it. Found 2 quaters, 1 dime and 4 pennies so far. I just started MD'ing. ;D

First of all, keep the killer avatar! :icon_queen:

Second, the Centech for $15 will serve you nicely until you are ready to pay for an in-line or fancier handheld. Nick thinks it's a POS, but I have a Sunray in-line and after I locate the general area of the target with it, I still use the Centech. Old habits die hard, I guess, but it will easily find tiny metal targets like tiny tacks or earrings when I'd be fumbling with handfulls of dirt with the Sunray.

Scrubber is right - the switch will get dirty after a while, so tape something over it to keep the dust out.

The nice thing is that if you get it and don't like it, you're out only $15!

Love the WV math, 53 x $5.00. Sunray Probe cost? Miss visiting WV, used to go to Galax(?) West Virginia for Blue Grass conventions, years ago. And Berkley Springs. And Blackberry Brandy Moonshine. Good, good, stuff.
