I found this on the hill next to my CW camp. It is nickel-sized, copper, and appears to have been a coin at one time (right before the fire got it)..really can't make out too many details and only one side is worth trying...also, it is as thick as a Large Cent...

Any chance that you can add some updated pics, the resolution of your pics 11 years ago was very small. :icon_scratch:

I'd think with the advancement of camera/phone technology since 2009, that we might be able to see more of the details.

I wish I could..my house burned down in '14 and I'm still sorting thru the charcoal...lol but it still bugs me. I know the location but certain variables will not allow me to reach the certain spot I am looking for...for my small collection... one of these days...POW!! lol

Man I'm so sorry to hear about your house my friend. :sadsmiley:

Hope you finally get an answer to your coin mystery.

Best guess

My best guess is a Netherlands coin based on the stylized rampant lion tail and the outer circle lettering.

Comparison is an 1877 2 1/2 cent copper. It is about the right size. Other era Dutch coins have a more stylized tail on the lion but I can't find an exact match.
