I have $1500 - Help me - Im stumped.

HDRK, do you think the M6 is better than the MXT Pro for high iron or salt beaches?

I do not see where there would be a difference in the salt, though I have not taken either to a salt beach. Iron, I like the 2 tone and adjustments of the MXT so I am partial to the MXT for relic hunting. However that is not saying the M6 is not capable, it's just a preference that I am used to. They're frequency is the same. If I were mostly coin and Jewlery hunting with an occasional relic hunt, I would go with the M6. Since I relic hunt often and occasionally coin and jewlery hunt, I like the MXT. Hope this is not to confusing and is my preference.

If I had 1500,I would buy either the etrac or the deus.I personally like how the deus is wireless.

HDRK I checked with the multi-brand detector shop owners 1/2 mile from here. Whites main plant is 4 blocks from there..The shop mostly sells Whites, some Minelabs, some Fishers for especially nugget hunting. She the 2-person owner said that the M6 is discontinued and is closer to a toy like the M5 over the MXT, not nearly the quality, and wouldn't be a good choice for salt beaches. She showed me two new Whites models in a new Whites catalog though, but I didn't write down the name of them.

Read the forum above louie, Dave (Woof!) is the chief engineer at Texas Instruments (Teknetics, Bounty Hunter, Fisher)..

oh, my mistake. Since original post was almost two years ago, I thought there was another discussion referred to in another thread. never mind.

I really do like the Garrett ATX, it's a real Powerhouse, and I know people who are dealers who are switching from the Minelab GPX's to it because it works so much better and easier..
