I found a Rolex a few days ago. Its been sat here as I'm not sure what to do with it or can tell if real or not. It has a 18k engraved on the back and there is a hidden clasp. I have uploaded some photos. Can anyone help at all? 6hMfzkf.jpgcvk1y8k.jpgdeyoCPD.jpggekSCwz.jpgL0w9VWc.jpgUEJ7WvV.jpgURaeybD.jpg

I am not an expert, more of a watch geek I cant afford a rolex so I wear a Tag, water proof to 1000m or 3330 ft LOL But any ways I am leaning towards fake A NICE FAKE but I think fake none the less. I can not find any Rolex self winding watch which this claims to be, with a gold color watch works they all appear to be titanium which is silver in color. To many rolex stamps inside the back glass seeming to scream look at my I am a rolex, when no one will ever see that part of the watch when worn. I do on the plus side seem to see some jeweled movement which means it may be an expensive fake and worth a couple hundred just not thousands

Please have it checked at a jeweler any good jeweler should do it for free and if they wont a pawn shop will.

Cant wait to read what you find out....

I should add that I have owned a couple fake rolex in the past and while I admit your has nice positive signs like the crown stamp in a few of the right places.. it does have a few of the wrong signs.. and in a watch like this all it takes is ONE wrong sign to be a replica.. but as I stated looks like a very nicely done replica and is prob still worth a couple hundred or more.. Really hope I am wrong on this for you .. keep us updated as to what you find out.

I sooooooo want this to be real :) love seeing people hit a little
Jackpot .. Rooting for ya

It is a fake.

The "skeleton" back is inconsistent with the Rolex brand.

The dial color is also not right for any Rolex model I have ever seen.

As the other poster noted the dial cut out mimicking a "Tourbillon" is also a dead give away that it is a "Faux-lex".

It is an Asian made replica I am sure a watch guy could tell you if it is a Thai or Chinese knock off but it is a fake.

Maybe worth 40-100 bucks to a sucker on a street corner but I would just throw it away as it is illegal to sell a counterfeit Rolex.

Well I'd probably wear it, not trash it. Hope it turns out to be good news for you. HH

be nice now, it is not illegal to sell it as a replica if you state it is a replica, only if you tried to pass it off as real! And I still stand by my original comment of seeing gemed movements so probably worth a couple hundred

i FOUND A FAKE ONE - WAS TOLD THEY DO NOT MAKE THEM WITH GLASS BACKS - they made one with see thru back - but it was for someone famous in uk I think - it was a special issue

I didn't know that, I thought that companies like rolex would sue your pants off if you sold something with their name on it that they didn't make. I know chanel, gucci, louis vuitton, coach, etc will prosecute anyone who sells a bag that looks even remotely like their bags. I look for those brands to re-sell but I have to be careful because you can be severely penalized for selling a fake, even unknowingly. Thats what I've heard, at least.

My dad owns a "good" replica which he paid $300 for and it sizes up to a real rolex with the constant tick and the quality. A fake like, my dads replica sells for about $600-$800 now.

My guess is it is a Rolex Style watch. See the following link. Not sure if they are legal to sell in the US but somehow these sites continue to be out there.

Rolex Replica Datejust Automatic Skeleton watch

Yep, that be close enough to call it.

It is strange why the big players don't go after the fakers, at least to shut down the websites, but either they can't or just don't. In a way the fakes sort of tick me off because I paid a good chunk of change for my watches so why should someone be able to wear the *same* for a couple hundred bucks, but then the other side of me says... who cares, if a person likes the look, doesn't want to spend the money and doesn't care it's fake, then why not. I've actually owned a fake Tag in the past and is what made me want to buy a real one. Most people don't really care about watches that much, so if it works, why not wear it..... although it can really put you on the spot because you know the one question everyone asks about a Rolex! .... Did you dig it? lol

Not trying to be rude I just know the watch market fairly well if you are paying more than 100-120 bucks for a fake Rolex like the one the OP posted a pic of you are getting taken advantage of period.

They sell for 20-40 bucks in Asia that is with automatic sweeping second hand and skeleton back.

It is illegal ask Rolex and see what they say.

Can you name one legit brick and mortar store that will sell you a "replica" Rolex anywhere in America?

Not including a Swap Meet, Flea Market or stand type of business?

Real Swiss watches increase in value FAKE watches do not no matter what your dad paid it will never be worth 600-800 even the top tier fakes from Japan only fetch a few hundred brand new and they do not go up in price as time goes by.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you but.... rolex does not make a skeleton back. To test a real rolex several ways but this one is certainly a fake. Sorry

Pebbles, real or fake your heart must have done a quick blip when you first saw it, then your jaw dropped open and may still be.

I do agree with everyone else, I am Very interested in what you find out about the watch from a jeweler so please do keep us updated. Thank you for the post which has caused what I would call a spirited debate likely only to be settled by your further input. Welcome to Tnet!..............................63bkpkr

Hi. Thanks all :)
I dont have a jewellers near my area but do have few cash converters. I did take it in and apparently a few 'customised rolxes' have been made.
The print logo on the dial is perfect. No blurrings or smudging.
The hand sweeps not ticks.
The man said he has seen a few people put a skeleton back on a few of their real rolexs aka hence the customised part.
Their diamond tester was broken at the time so couldn't get it checked BUT he said he couldnt scratch the front which apparently you can only scratch the front with a diamond or something.
The rolex logo is correct on the top and along with the other markings.
He also said something about the edges being smooth not rough which is where a lot of fakes make them rough.
I was advised to go to a jewellers which I will be on weekend as the guy said that it doesnt appear to be a fake because there is too much detail and effort put in but just incase before I do get my hopes up is to check it out.
It would be nice as I've just lost my job so would come in handy. I have put a notice up so if no one claims it in 28 days then its my lucky month.
As a fake is can still get a nifty lot :)
I haven't quite worked out how to take the lug off yet as apparently there is a number under it. If I do it I'll break it so I'll leave it to an expert.
Its a champagne dial which does exist. According to google anyhow. And a few customised submarines (if spelt right) did have skeleton backs.

I shall keep you all updated.

I still hope it's the real deal :)

Me and you both.
This is the most awesome thing I have ever found in my life.
It would be great if something good came out of it :)

I could buy my bunny a bigger cage :)
