I found a Rolex a few days ago. Its been sat here as I'm not sure what to do with it or can tell if real or not. It has a 18k engraved on the back and there is a hidden clasp. I have uploaded some photos. Can anyone help at all? 6hMfzkf.jpgcvk1y8k.jpgdeyoCPD.jpggekSCwz.jpgL0w9VWc.jpgUEJ7WvV.jpgURaeybD.jpg

Take it to a watch shop. They should be able to verify it for you. If I remember correctly, real ones have serial numbers and other identifying characteristics.

I agree with Hendrix - don't walk RUN to a jeweler and have it confirmed. Heck, they might make you an offer!

Three quick things to look for to help determine if it's real:

-A Rolex crown symbol on the screw-down crown (which I can see yours has),
-If it's running, the second hand should sweep evenly, not inch along (i.e., not a battery movement),
-The hidden portion of the clasp, when closed, should be adorned with Rolex engraving.

I'm sure there's other quick methods to tell but that's what immediately comes to mind. Most fakes aren't made that precisely.

I'm guessing the hole left was to mimic a tourbillon, and if so, definitely fake.

ok...without numbers...the size of the movement...{measure across the face}...

it is difficult to tell from a photo if the watch is authentic...but...
the details appear to be consistent with an original rolex...

I have found similar faces on line...please take that watch to a fine jeweler, reputable, or contact rolex...... and trace the serial numbers.

Please post a Rolex dial with the hole like that.

Great find! Hope it turns out to be genuine for you.

I am not an expert, more of a watch geek I cant afford a rolex so I wear a Tag, water proof to 1000m or 3330 ft LOL But any ways I am leaning towards fake A NICE FAKE but I think fake none the less. I can not find any Rolex self winding watch which this claims to be, with a gold color watch works they all appear to be titanium which is silver in color. To many rolex stamps inside the back glass seeming to scream look at my I am a rolex, when no one will ever see that part of the watch when worn. I do on the plus side seem to see some jeweled movement which means it may be an expensive fake and worth a couple hundred just not thousands

Please have it checked at a jeweler any good jeweler should do it for free and if they wont a pawn shop will.

Cant wait to read what you find out....

I've advanced from Tag to Breitling, but still not to Rolex yet. :) And with the prices seeming to go up every year I don't think I'll make it.

The serial numbers will be located under the area of the bezel where the band connects , I'm not certain what side . And I think what you have is a knock off but a pricey one . I have one that has a Skeleton back (glassed) and from what I could research Rolex only made two types of those and that was many moons ago . Your's also has the view in front and mine's face is solid . Mine had a Rolex Band and symbol in the Crown . Yours appears to have a spun stainless steel bezel and Rolex will not . Mine ever says it inside on the works . And exactly where does yours say 18K because I can't see any gold color except from the works . I hope it's genuine but it's likely a knock off . Please post links to any sights you find your style and good information . I actually have three knockoffs ( need to recheck one ) and I'd like to read up more on the authentic Rolex's and their knockoff's . Best of Luck 2 U ... Woodstock

It seems to be a beautiful watch regardless and a great find.........let us know how the evaluation comes out.....

I have a hard time believing that Rolex would make anything that ugly
