Hurricane Milton Thread

Brother is in Le High Acres, just south west of Ft Meyers, he was outside with his son and wife and happen to look up at the thunderstorms passing over and spotted a funnel cloud hanging from cloud, it hadn't touched down, at least when he saw it. It was first funnel cloud he had ever seen.,

I saw this one being posted awhile ago.
Sounded like it was going across a field of sorts. Ugly looking sky.

The St Lucie County Sheriff’s Office was just struck by tornado ahead of Milton

Lieutenant Dan is riding out the storm in a sailboat.

My kitty Murray stressed out about the storm!

In Bradenton....hunkered down did everything I could do to keep us and house safe.....hope it looks close to the same when I step out in the AM....out of my hands now
Good luck sir. Wish you the best,!

Well guy I hope the worse you have to deal with is JUST a power outage (hopefully NOT). But you'll know soon. But it's sure a slow moving storm which brings more rain....? We'll all stay tuned T.H.
Actually at 17mph it is moving pretty good, I have been in hurticanes where it was moving less than 10.ph.

Charley went through at 25 mph.

Milton has come ashore at 120 mph at Siesta Key just south of Sarasota.

2.6 inches of rain at my house so far and still raining hard, steady 25-40 mph winds currently, hurricane still 115 miles SE of Orlando, if it stays on track, it will pass about 35 miles south of me around 2-3am on Oct 10.

We just sold our whole house gas generator. For months now stayed completely off the grid in all kinds of weather with lithium-ion batteries and solar panels. Other type batteries proved to be a waste of money. A natural gas generator is hooked up to solar system but with lithium-ion never had to use it. With hurricane flood waters though, that probably a big risk.

Yes, lithium-ion and salt water are not a good mix, been multiple EV that burnt up in battery fires.

I have enough solar panels they provide all my electricity, but the batteries to store the electric is out of my price range, at least now, maybe the cost will come down in the future.
