I was on my way to a local grade school that recently closed. On the way I passed this house, which I go past very often.

I've never got up the nerve to stop and ask if I could MD but this time I thought I'd give it a try. The people who lived here were friendly and said I could hunt all I wanted to.

Best of the finds

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't find anything older. The two Indian Heads were found early the first day so I was pretty excited.

I am going to make one or two more trips and try some other coils.

:)

I've been nursing a pulled muscle on my right side so I haven't been able to get back to this place until yesterday.

Used the Super 12 this time. It was a little difficult since there was so much trash in the ground and the Super 12 was really to large to use here. Was able to dig an interesting buckle.

Lately on this forum and others there have been some comments about the DFX not being able to pick up targets that are close to iron. That has not been my experience and yesterday I had another good example.

These four items came out of the same hole. The small nail was on top at about 4 inches, then the nickel, then the quarter round 5 inches and then the large square nail at around 6 inches. The tip of the large nail was pointing up and the nail angled off in a downward direction. I've had many experiences with good targets next to iron and they always make me smile :)
