No sorry NF - You don't get the point. God or Jesus never told the government to steal money and spread it around. He said for "us" to give to the poor. If all you lib's would help out us Christians and give like we do, maybe we could all make a big dent in the issue. Then we would all be happy - correct?

Always with the excuses not to help.

I think your problem with it is reading and applying small parts of it without understanding the whole concept. There is much more to Christianity than throwing away money to people that don't appreciate it. There is actually spiritual messages included for the growth of one's soul. And helping others to a better fulfillment.

The subject of my post is Christian congressmen acting a very unchristian way toward people who they have the power to help. The subject is not Christianity. perhaps we can discuss that in another thread if you'd like to start it.

Interesting that you categorize helping the needy as throwing away money. my take is Jesus didn't see it that way. maybe some reading about worshiping the Golden Calf would help.

Maybe they're controlling the use of their "power" unlike OBummer, who grasps, and uses all he can get. Also, maybe they believe they don't have the right to steal from one person and give to another....something you libs should learn.

Jesus said to "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" when asked if Jews should pay Roman taxation. Doesn't sound like he thought taxation was theft in any way, and he said to pay your taxes. Bookaroo's Gandhi quote about people who claim to follow Christ seems very applicable here...
