I will discuss things on any topic just as I would in real life. But if I think "Would I act that way or say that in real life, in the company of the person?" And if the answer is "no" I excuse myself.

You best bet is to always quote the person you are referring to.
I didn't quote anyone as it was generalized, but I can see how that could be taken to refer to any of the posts.
