I'm still working to date the farmstead. Seeing signs of mid to late 19th century. The railroad was nearby, about 150 yards away.

Part of an andiron? Has a side with several grooves to match another part, plus shows some wear where a loose fitting part rubbed. Has an EA A marking on what appears to be an inner side. You can see where screws or set pins once were.

I see the resemblance but think this is heavier than that. It resembles a strongback like I used to deal with on Navy boiler doors. Thinking it was used for holding something together.

first thing I thought of when I saw the pics , part of the guts to an old railroad jack .... but the holes don't match up , as far as I can tell ....
