I enjoy both really but if I had to choose one over the other I'd go with beach hunting. Nobody is dropping any more seated dimes or large cents these days so once a site is dug its dug. People contribute new gold and silver to the beach sites every year though and when the ocean moves enough sand out of the way you can dig old coins also.
