Not sure how to word the title that makes since.. Has anyone run a high banker / dredge combo without the box on top? One issue I can see is the rubber flap mounts to the box, but I could make a bracket and mount it to the sides of the sluice. Reason being so its less awkward and lighter to carry.

On a proline the dredge hose attaches at the back of the sluice below the hopper box vs a Keene which puts the hose into the hopper and acts like a crashbox header. On the proline like you have pictured there is nothing to slow and distribute the flow other than that rubber flap and recovery isn’t great.

Any tips or mods for better recovery on the proline?

The biggest tip as far as I know is "DON'T HOG THE MATTERIAL" / watch your pump speed (lower is better) /modify your sluice into a over / under sluice ! to do this you'll need to need to add another layer of sluice surface with some sheet aluminum and this upper layer will be for any nugget's or over burden that you suck up. the lower portion of the sluice is for your fines with your matting of your choice . and on the upper sluice I like to add a nugget trap at the head of the upper sluice. I like the rubber damper to help flatten out the water flow . Keep your hose only as long as you really need it and to keep your suction hose straight as you can to help prevent plug ups in the hose. Move your box if you have cleaned out your hole and need more hose to reach the good looking spots ! MERRY CHRISTMASS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL !

Not sure if a small dredge has enough flow to operate an over under box. I’m planning on trying it on my 2.5” backpack dredge hoser John style like I did on my 4”

AHMEN to the " John Hoser " style of dredge ! We meet up with John years back in Wyoming while on our annual 2 week outing in the mountains . I got pictures of all of us enjoying the times with friends ! I always brought my 4 inch dredge and my 2 inch Proline dredge when I went out to different locations /States and I set up my dredges with the over / under set up ......... I figured "what the heck , why not try to save that fine stuff also !" We never got into the nugget area's ! In my trailer I had different riffle and carpeting set ups for both of my dredge's and was always tring to find that "just right " combination. :coffee2: a 2 inch dredge can only go so deep anyway !

Let us know how it goes and post some pics if you do. =)
