HF Coil Ticking Time Bomb Warning

To set the record straight...I have never put the machine or the coil in the hard shell Deus box, as a matter of fact I'm giving the box to a friend, I'll never use it. The coil has NEVER been folded in any way, shape or form. All I've ever done is level it to the ground. I always have the machine assembled, and this coil has only been in my lawn, 1 park and the beach so far. Woods and brush are still off limits due to killer yellow jackets from the pit of hell so there is zero chance something caught the wire, causing a problem. Never folded, never disassembled, until it was shipped back. Not run over by a truck or bungee jumped with. Never wrapped around a tree, never swatted a yellow jacket with it (can you tell I don't like them?). It just happened, catastrophically with no warning. I have a new one now and it works just fine.

Both HF coils are potentially susceptible as the external battery cable design is identical for both. Since the LF coils do not have an external battery they are not susceptible.

Thanks VF! Good info to know. Glad the LF ones don't have this issue as I fold it up like a spaceship every time. :occasion14: :metaldetector:

Thanks for that info Smokey,
I will be careful with this wire, but I guess I have about five years to test it's durability.

I'm like you Stretch da truth,
I always fold my Deus up to store it.
Guess I'll be finding a better way.
