Nice, not many silver buttons posted.

Even places with nastier soils you can still pull nice condition some of the time.

I can back up your finds as well Pete. I lived in Goose Creek for years and found relics in the same condition and my parents live up the road in Darlington-Florence and I dig out pristine relics fro up that way too...its just as sandy and nice up that way as down near Charleston, Secessionville and Battery Wagner. UMRGolf is my friend and old digging partner and He'll tell you even here in Eastern Virginia the soil is real sandy and many of the buttons come out in near perfect conditon as well...its the coastal plains where you find those good soils from down your way up to ere in Virginia.

Anyway great digs and another terrific button my friend :occasion14:

I hear there's an article in W & E coming up about the soil conditions in SC :laughing9:

That S.C. button is beautiful Peles :icon_sunny: And I know you dug it ! A Banner Button no doubt about it ! I have seen some of your other low country finds usually in amazing condition :o. It might not make the Banner even though it should ! Best of luck out there ! M.R.

I've done my share of research over the past 20 + yrs and have found most of my areas I hunt in that way. This site was in an part of the lowcountry that I've been hunting in off and on for the past 15 yrs or more. The particular site the SC button came from was a very old plantation site or what's left of it. I can tell you what I look for if you email me. I'd be glad to give you some tips . You must have missed the video I put up here awhile back, It may give you a little insight into what kinda site we were hunting.
