Found at an estate sale. Cast iron. Ship encircled by a rope. Has a set screw. 3-1/8" high, 3-1/2" wide, hole is 3/4" in diameter. Obviously went on some kind of post or pole. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

OMG taz I think thats it a lamp part! The tiny set screw just keeps it from turning. That also explains the lack of rust.I see similar on lamps but not a match. View attachment 798873View attachment 798874
VERY similar in design, but I'd agree, not quite a match. Thanks for searching for me!I see similar on lamps but not a match. View attachment 798873View attachment 798874
IMO, I don't think it is a lamp part. I think taz's photo finds do look very similar, though. The piece does have some rust and corrosion. It looks to me like it has been exposed to the weather. I just don't know...OMG taz I think thats it a lamp part! The tiny set screw just keeps it from turning. That also explains the lack of rust.
Nothing is solved but IMO it could fit. We have had other Santa Maria items posted here before. A google search reveals the Santa Maria with rope border was popular with cast iron wall plaques and cast iron bookends as well as lamps. I was hoping it was something historic.IMO, I don't think it is a lamp part. I think taz's photo finds do look very similar, though. The piece does have some rust and corrosion.
