37 I'd never heard of that type, not up on paleo, looked it up though and seeing the width in the middle relates to that type.

They're a scarce paleo point, kind of rare even in type location from what I've read. Assuming that one is good it's the best example I've seen.

If it's from Kentucky, then I'd agree is something from the Wheeler cluster.

Before I'd buy it, I'd have it looked at for two reasons.

1. They are very, very rare in that quality.

2. There is an archaic type in Nevada & other Great Basin States called a Pinto Basin and some examples look very much like that piece.

From here the point looks like a Kentucky point, but before plopping down serious money for it I'd have some one look at it. I'd guess that a Wheeler would cost at least 10 times what a comparable Pinto would cost.

I found an exact example of this one in an Overstreet Arrowhead Identification and Value guide. There were multiple examples in it but the dead ringer for this one, called the "Classic Form" was also found in KY and yes its a Wheeler Recurvate. Im not buying this and its not for sale, just wanted an ID for a friend. Thanks for all the input.

very nice, I'd say wheeler too. I have 4 wheelers no where near as nice as that one

great item You have there.

Be careful though, after I found my 4, a friend of mine had one made that looks awesome.
so yes Id tell him to take it and have it looked at just to make sure he actually has something original other than just passed down vocals about it.
then he will know he has something 100% a great find!!!

Looks like Sonora material, Ky. find? My guess would be Wheeler Recurvate...great point whatever the type.

I agree with Th3rty7 definitely looks like a wheeler recurvate point. It looks alot like those Black Rock Concaves found in Oregon,Cali, and Wash. and Nev................Nice find...............GTP
