✅ SOLVED Help identifying this button

My home was built in the 1890's. I found this button this morning while I was changing out coils and testing to make sure they worked near a cinder dump site beside the house. I can't seem to find this button in any of my catalogs. I do not see any back marks. Could this be a later button? Maybe WWI. Thanks for any and all help!!

I don't think your button is American military. The style of eagle, as well as the stars above the head of the eagle, let me think it is inspired by the great seal button that was adopted in 1902. It would be good to see a picture of the back. Unless it is school related, I would guess it is fashion related
