Hard times token, 59fatty,miniball, and lots of misc.

I got out with Gates today to hunt an old site. Gates found a nice CW Eagle button . my best was a suspender buckle. Page 2,---Gates had to leave about 2pm so I took a drive past some of our hunted out field sites and found one that had just been cultivated. I found the 1830s Hard times token, the miniball,and the 1859 fatty. The rest of the pics are some of my finds from the past month.

The silver compact and thimble are some of the best finds in this post! Beautiful finds.

The hard times tokens are always a great find.

I would love to see another photo or two of that bird-shaped piece. Is it clay? Pipe or whistle?
That may in fact be the star find.

The bird is non magnetic and heavy. Lead or an alloy I think.
No idea what it is.

I have seen very similar examples posted before--and I am pretty certain they are pewter whistles. Does it have anything inside like a jingler? Have you blown into it yet?

I think Don in SJ posted one, or a piece of one a while back.
