HI all,

Gary and I got out to the old Happy Trails site again today. Gary did very well and so did I.

Gary found 3 beautiful Half dollars, 1945 Standing Liberty and two Franklin Halves 1951 & 1952, he also found 2 Rosy's 1948 D & 1954 and 7 wheat penny's.

I found a Washington Quarter 1940, 4 Rosy's 1948, 1950, 1964, 1964 D, 1 Mercury Dime 1944, 1 War Nickel 1944 P, and one Buffalo, can't read the date. I also found a silver ring and somesort of a ring with ONE CENT, a Star fish on it and the date 1966, not sure what it is, also found 15 wheat pennies.

We both found lots of clad coins and lots of trash, which of course we took out of the field.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and your not to tired from shopping today. I'm not cause I hunted all day. LOL

Nice common finds!

Yeah those are some common finds I guess, but I haven't seen to many other guys posting that many common finds here lately, from one site. Except of course the Iceberg site.

Some of my uncommon finds for this year include 2 Flying Eagle penny's, a War of 1812 Silver Plated Officers Button, valued at over $400, 2 presidential campaign watch fobs, one from 1868 and one from 1909 and I can't tell you how many gold rings I found this summer in the lakes around me. I also found 4 or 5 Civil war tokens this year and a couple of Civil War Buttons.

My buddy also found 2 Flying Eagle penny's also, a $1,000 ring and lots of other neat stuff.

So I suppose if my buddy and I lived up in Pa. we could find more uncommon finds, like you and your buddies. Yeah we would love to find some coppers and who knows we just might someday, lots of people from Pa.and other eastern states came to Ohio to start a new life, hope they brought some of that old stuff with them. LOL

Well hope you and your friends get out this Great Weekend and find some of those goodies in the ground.

Happy Hunting All, Ringfinder

Ringfinder, I didn't mean to offend you.

My uncommon finds:
- Counterstamped "CM Berry" Saloon token on a 2-Reale - look that one!
- 3 Gold rings
- 1774 British Halfpenny
- 1786 Conneticut copper
- 1875-S Seated dime in a "well-hunted" park
- 1853 3-cent silver piece @ 6" in a "well-hunted" park

I could go on all day, Pops, but I choose not to. Happy hunting with that Ace 250 - hehehehe

Hey no problem Doyboy, glad you found all of those things. I also found a 1853 3 cent piece along with a 6 pound cannon ball at the same location.

I can't say I found any 1700's coins yet this year, but I really don't live in that kind of an area.

But heck I've only been detecting for 23 years and you have only been detecting for 1 year. I'm sure you know lots more than I will ever know about metal detecting. I started detecting while my neighbor and I ran a Saw mill. Used to hunt for nails and horseshoes in the logs.

Happy Hunting Doyboy and hope the future brings you lots of excellent finds, Old and New!
