I bought a coat just at a second hand market (in the Netherlands). I didn't realize that it may be some kind of antique item, I only paid 5 euros.
But then my mom said this coat was most definitely hand-made and now I'm dying to (as is she) to know if it is indeed antique.

It has the winged wheels on its buttons as you can see on the photo, which is a common button as I've seen around googling, but this one also has a crown on it, so I'm thinking it has to be from a monarchy and most probably from its railroads? The coat has been made mostly by hand and this has been done extremely well, so I'm guessing it must have been an incredible cost to make.

The coat is mostly pressed wool (on the outside) and cotton on the inside of the sleeves.

These were some things I could find: link1, link2 (scroll down a bit), link3 (same as 1st) and I found this on the forum.
Now I'm guessing it's from Denmark, but that's just a guess and it would be nice if someone could give me some closure.

Thanks in advance

Are there markings on the back of the buttons? And have you checked inside All of the pockets to see if there might be a tailors tag?

I think you are on the right track (no pun intended). Possibly a Dutch State Railway uniform coat - mid 20th C. As far as the hand sewiing is concerned, it could have been altered/tailored. Cool jacket. I'd wear it.
