Spent about an hour at small picnic area. This was my first venture with my detector away from my own yard. Found a beautiful Quarter and a couple pennies. Started digging signals that were to deep and mostly trash then turned to looking for things closer to the surface. Seemed to work better. Have a lot to learn but really enjoyed.

Ready to do it again. I think the local parks are off limits around here even when they are open. I got permission at a playground but they are closed right now. Doing some looking around for some possibilities. Today was a good start.

Welcome aboard! As you become more familiar with your machine, more of those deep signals will turn into coins and other goodies- GL!

Welcome from Michigan and glad you could get out in the field.

Nice looking quarter, keep at it! :occasion14:

The parks over there (Jefferson Parish) are off limits. I was told by the park police I couldn't metal detect. I guess they figure it's best for all that cool stuff to just rot underground. It makes no sense to me.

I'm always envious of you all in the northeast, as it seems they let you detect parks.

MoonRoc, you'll find spots as time goes on. Metal detecting is SO interesting and fun. :)

Thanks, thats what I thought. It doesnt make any sense to me either. It is recreation and thats what parks are for. :icon_scratch:
