My son and I dug this tonight in a old farm field, don’t have any info on the fields but have dug flat buttons and a colonial shoe buckle frame here. The button has a Eagle looking left on it with the wings up, looks like shield covering the center of the eagle, arrows clutched in the right claws. I think there’s something over the head but can’t make it out. The button measures 24.51 mm wide, no shank on back. The eagle looks so similar to the on one the GW buttons minus the up swept wings. Any help with an ID on this button would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I believe it’s a US diplomatic service button 1798-1803 D440719D-94DD-4F6A-8325-72B0ED3706DA.jpeg.
