This is my last guess - NSU Wankel Spider - I lugged 3 boxes of 50's and 60's Motor Trend mags out of the attic ( a little slower than Google ) Now I Give Up .

PBK is looking in the right direction. Allis stayed on the farm, did not get out to the race tracks ...Had a bunch of little combines.. Sang with a group called the Tractors.

Ol' Allis did have some same-name car kin, though: a kissin' cousin by the name of Chalmers-Detroit, who later merged with Maxwell (ooh!) and ultimately became Chrysler.
