Group Hunt

got so excited by tinman"s slide forgot to mention that when we went out to check the hunt site, it looked like it was a gopher field,tons of badly dug plugs,thinking bout switching spots(mayb)still got a few weeks.......exactly why we need to show how to dig a plug the proper way,i might go back over the weekend to try and do a lil maintenence.....thanks for the reminder jon

I was out on the south side yesterday and seen a bunch of open holes and junk close by...I blew a gasket in woods and was hoping I'd ran into this lazy piece of turd.

I really don't get it myself..They dig the hole and leave the trash on top of the plug and walk away 2' to do the same thing..
 

amx fred and i saw the same thing at a park west of dekalb 2 weeks ago. huge holes made into trenches from poor pinpointing skills. dead spots all over, junk still in holes or on top. must be using a large spade too.
 

still on ....nothing changed probably be the last group hunt in the woods,might as well make it a good one.not to worry,we still do hunts at the lake,we've done overnite camping trips at sites that have lakes for all us water nuts..........improvise,adapt and overcome
 

Is the FP ordinance active? When does it go in effect? I'm on for the group hunt, but I think that the revenuers may salivate at the opportunity of fining 20+ people for >$100...

I've seen something very similar to this in a south side preserve about 2 years ago. There were a bunch of plugs out of the hole (solid plugs, but not put back in) with trash like pull tabs sitting on the top just like that. It really pissed me off at the time. It pisses me off even more now.

Last ghetto park, Clad's group hunt, was quite a bust. Perhaps there is a state park where we can get a permit which would be good?

For now let's keep all suggestions and ideas off the board, straight to Bomber and Murph. We need space, a place that's good enough to last into the late afternoon and where we can cook.
 

I have bin emailing all the county's around heard back from a few. I got a few good tips so nothing is over until we decide it is was it over when the Germans bombed pearl harbor hell no LOL

I'm thinking about inviting Rick Savage and the American Digger team. They have won me over. You can call them out on their sales pitch, sounds like a bad used car commercial. I'd agree. You can call them out on some of those big dollars they pull out of the ground for stuff some of us have found and could only find scrap yards for, if not a fraction of what people are paying on that show. I might agree.

But one thing you can't say about them. Timidity. They are in-your-face fun-with-coils kinds of guys who are showing what real American nads are made of. No deskies, no archies, no red tape. The only people they ask permission from is that last group of nearly unregulated-to-death people, the American homeowners, mostly rural and independence-minded folk. Best part is, psychosis setting in among every red-tape loving deskie in the world who has some ancient insecurity over their lack of control and oversight into every last corner of our life.

Let's get these guys to the picnic, and they'd probably go do a demo on the deskie HQ rooting out the bureaucratic anachronisms such as the belief that the King's (or Queen's) Property is off limits.

I have been using it for the last couple of days, It is cool that you get a notification when there is a post on a thread you have subscribed to . But Murph please tell me you know the Germans didn't bomb Pearl Harbor ?LOL
