Hello everyone, decided to register on the forum.
I have been practicing treasure hunting for 4 years already.
I live in Ukraine, I dig here too.

Of course, I'm happy to talk about every find.

Republican Roman silver, which lies on the palm of 4 pieces found on the outskirts of the village, we were with friends, it was already evening, it was getting dark, we walked to the car, but I heard the cry of a comrade who was left behind, I realized that he had found something ...
The next day 2 more coins, then a couple of months later found another 4 total 10 coins in one place.
We came to see the first silver, began to walk there, and on the first day 4 coins were found ...

Yes, it is this coin.

I really like republican denarius, because they have very good silver, usually when I found simple denarii they were dark with a touch ...

But these simply rubbed their fingers and they are white ...

Yes, thank you, it seems like this denarius was released in honor of the victory over Germany, if I'm not mistaken, on it the Roman defends his comrade-in-arms!

Such beautiful finds. I hope I am able to detect outside of North America some day. Ochen preeyatna, comrade.

That gold coin medallion thingy is sooooooo cooI . I would be tempted to wear it if it were stable.

Post #26 shows a 103 BC Roman Republic silver denarii. The coin is from the moneyer, Q.Minucius Thermus; shown as Q. THERM MF. The obverse shows the head of Mars in crested helmet with (as you wrote) two warriors fighting, the one on the left protecting a fallen comrade. Yours looks genuine; others have been counterfeited with silver plating. In antiquity, silver was worth, by weight, about 100 times as much as copper. The Republican denarius was nearly pure silver and valued as silver, so there was profit to be made by wrapping a copper core in a thin silver foil (much like aluminum foil) and striking it with false dies to make a "coin" called a "fourrée" with most of its weight actually copper.

Cool pictures! In which part of Ukraine do you live?

Those are some excellent finds. You have so much history there!

In post #22, you are holding two coins on your glove. Both coins reflect the the ruler (perhaps even Christ) 'nimbate'; wearing a numbus --a halo surrounding the head--found frequently on medieval coins.Once you clean those two, a better attribution can be given.
I continue to say: Your continued finds deserve, at a minimum, an Honorable Mention.

nice shot man..

our land our geography have really nice relics and coins.

ottomans are nice.

good luck.

in turkey the ottoman coils price is about 3.000 dollars. each

Very cool finds!!! Congrats!!! This is quite interesting that only republican Roman coins are coming out in your area. Watched many videos from Ukraine diggers - they keep finding Imperial Roman coins all the time. Perhaps there was very early settlement of Romans in your area otherwise it is hard to explain this thing. Thanks for sharing your finds comrade!

Hello everyone, thanks for the feedback!

I live in the Odessa region, here the land is really rich in finds, but unfortunately it is necessary to sell almost everything for pennies, because in the strange it is messed up ....

But about the early Romans, we had on the river Danube stood a Roman fortress "Alirobriks"
From her unfortunately nothing left .... a lot of Roman coins from these neighborhoods.

Here prilogayu photo yesterday's findings, just a great state.

Sincerely, Boris.

Here is a photo of yesterday's departure, just an excellent condition.

Very nice Denarii you have found. I collect Republican Roman coins and some Greek coins. I could never dream of finding them here. My city is only 140 years old :(

I don't know if this website will help you very much because it is in English but I use it to identify and catalog my coins.

Roman Coins in the WildWinds DataBank, Indexed by Sear RCV [2000] Number

I also use the book "Roman Coins and Their Values" by David Sear

If you or any of your friends are ever interested in selling some of your finds, please PM me.

Cheers comrade

Thank you, comrade!

Unfortunately, in Ukraine the prices are low, and you, most likely, will be difficult to send coins ... on the border will not be missed (((
