Met up with my buddy Tony today and drove out to a farm that he had permission to detect on. I drew first blood with a 1867 half toasted Indian. Next thing I see is him waving at me and yelling "I've got cut piece of Spanish silver" Damn! Yep, It was, and a thick one too! I'm guessing maybe part of an 8 reale? One side you can clearly see Caro, And the other side you can see 66. The edge of it has a braid design on it. By the way, He is a newby at detecting. This is probably his 5th hunt, And he is swinging a Eurotek pro with an 8in. coil. I swear, you couldn't slap the grin off his face! Sorry the pics suck, couldn't get my camera to zoom in. Anyways, I ended up with a bunch of relics,(mostly colonial) and 3 coins. 1867 indian, 1919 and 1944 wheat. Oh yeah, I dug the smallest thimble I've ever found! 1-16-16 003.JPG1-16-16 004.JPG1-16-16 015.JPG1-16-16 016.JPG1-16-16 017.JPG1-16-16 020.JPG1-16-16 018.JPG1-16-16 021.JPG1-16-16 007.JPG1-16-16 005.JPG1-16-16 006.JPG

mr.b,

Good score on the Spanish cut silver.

Regards + HH

Bill

Thanks Bill, It was a really fun hunt. My buddy scored his first "major" find, and the look on his face was priceless to me!

Its always mice to hear of a newbies first big find. Cudo's to you mr.b for taking someone new with you.

ID SAY YOU GOT SOME NICE KEEEEPERS....

I guess I need to pay more attention. Apparently, the Indian I found yesterday is a semi key date. It's actually in pretty good shape. Maybe a couple of hot baths in peroxide will do the trick. Also I've never found a button like this before, any input on it would be great!1-17-16 001.JPG1-17-16 002.JPG1-17-16 004.JPG

Congrats once again! Heck... I wouldn't even know what I had if I found 90 percent of your finds!

Great day out, those thimbles still get smaller....

Very nice finds Mr. B. The button and IHC are sweet.

Psst: That cut silver is KILLER!

Very Good saves on the treasure! I like the comment "I swear, you couldn't slap the grin off his face!" I know that look...It's the....I'm Hooked for Life now...

Real nice for both of you! Yea, it would be hard to knock that off that smile! Lol! Congrats
