Well here in ohio it's not that big. Its more like flower gold. Trust me I would love to find some like that

Well then, you have not found the right place yet, simple! It took me a long time to find the right place and even then it was about 5 tons of work, it did not pay for itself in money but in the experience and the adventure I did get my moneys worth plus some.

Before the stuff I've 'shared', kindly I might add, in the picture came along all I ever got were fines to larger fines. This year, if I get to go out, I hope to improve on my finds. Notice I said hope to!

It also took me a long time to gather the right equipment to be applied to the right spot. My GMT is my friend for life and the folks here on Tnet I take my hat off to them with thanks as they helped me so much and still do.

Have fun out there, these will be the memories/stories you bore the dickens out of people with when ever you get to rocking chair time.........................63bkpkr

Well I should be hitting the river today. I will post my findings

Was unable to go today. I do plan on going tomorrow pending on the ohio weather lol

I think it's still roughly 1" drop per foot of your sluice. I've never used that sluice but I don't see it being different. Also depends on your flow of water as well. If its building up quickly behind the riffles add like .5 inch drop. I was having the same problem, make sure the water is flowing in straight as well, a lot of times the flow will move at an angle because of the banks which makes it aggravating. I was told to buy a sluice stand and it'll help, and confidently ill add the same advice, it makes your life much easier as a prospector :)

The Tee Dee E-Z Sluice was also my first, a good little starter sluice for the money. One thing though, those snap in plastic riffles can be easily dislodged by rocks, so be sure to classify down to 1/2" or less, and load it slowly or you'll be chasing then down the creek. BTW, would that be the Greater Miami you're hitting? I have a bud who lives right on it in NE Dayton. I have asked if he's done in any prospecting on it, but he has no interest in it.

I live in the dayton area I hit some of the rivers around hee so yea I believe it's the great miami river
