Yes, please. I believe it's serpentine, but would like an educated opinion. I acquired it at a garage sale, and have no idea where it was collected. It weighs 12.7 pounds, and is fairly soft (can be scratched by a steel object).

If it is stone and not metal then it probably is magnetite. https://www.sciencesource.com/archive/Magnetite-streak-test-SS2863789.html

Do a streak test as described in above link................this can be done on the underside of a porcelain toilet tank lid.
