In 1984, I lost my solid gold St. Christopher medal on a lawn in Tyndall AFB, FL. When I was a young GI, I was on a deployment to Tyndall, and one night a group of us had a few beers, and we found ourselves walking the streets of Tyndall. We were all in our mid-twenties, and like the kids we were, wrestling, punching, and cuffing each other as we walked along. We wrestled on the grass of a couple lawns down the street which has the church. I believe that I may have lost my medallion on the lawn of that church.

My wife bought that piece for me when she was working for GTE downtown Tampa. The medallion was engraved with something on the back, but neither my wife nor I can remember what it was exactly.

If anyone gets a chance to hunt for it, and IF you find it, I would pay a reward to get it back. The loss of it has haunted me for 30 years.

Bump.

Hoping some GI stationed at Tyndall will eventually find it. We can always hope, right?
