Ok, let's start an official thread with what I know so far.

* Parker wants to buy his own lease to be free of Tony and has a stated goal of 2000 ounces

* The Hoffmans are abandoned. Dave Turin is going to work for Freddie Dodge.

* Dakota Fred and Dustin are off the show due to a contract dispute.

* Tony f***ing Beets wants to rebuild a floating dredge in a project that should yield lots of beeps.

And just saw this. Jim Thurber is out.

Unless Tod gives him 50% of the mine and has the last say in whats going on! That is one choice that would be EZ for me to make if I was in that situation! Id stay with a winner with the Dodge brothers ! Tod doesn't have the best track records on his ideas or his dads!

2 more What the friks.

I did allot of fast Forwarding through Beets his boss & Parker

Well seeing that Todd got most of the crew back, Dave has a big decision to make here. The claim that Todd got SEEMS to have a LOT of gold on it and since Dave has always been the only one with a real brain on his crew, I can understand why Todd wants him back. I think it's going to come down to just how badly Todd wants Dave back and how loyal Dave has become towards Freddie during his short time with him.

I've also noticed that the show hasn't been showing all that much of Freddies operation so far. Guess that Freddie doesn't want the TV cameras in the way and mucking things up with their "Do this to increase the drama" requests/orders.

Will Dave jump ship back to Todds operation?
Will Todd Give in to Daves demand to be made a full partner?
Will Parker ever learn how to deal with people when things go south?
Will Tony ever get his dredge moved and running? (We've given up hope of him cleaning up his language)
Will Discovery ever give us a REAL gold show?

Tune in next week for yet another chapter of "As the Stomach Turns!"

I think Dave will come back just to get the TV air Time & extra $$$$

Depends on Dave's ego.
Right now he's just another hand on Freddie's team.
Hooking back up with Todd will place him back on top of the food chain.

He may be waiting to see how fast Todd can produce that 100 oz. He promised the land owner
first so he isn't stuck Helping come up with it

By the time Beets gets that ol'beast running he'll be into it around 2 million. For that he could of built a new dredge on site with new technology and not have torn apart a piece of history. My guess is this is totally drama driven by the discovery channel. If he succeeds they'll have a new segment to add for next year. If he fails the "legend" can spin it off- "To be a _______ goldminer in the _____ Yukon you got to_______ go big or ________ go home and have the_________cojones to _________risk it all- blah, blah blah". I should be a _____ writer for the show, lol! Either way we'll all tune in next week in the hopes of seeing that gold!

..... I am so far behind.... -_-

DVR Here I come! :)

Tony CAN afford to be over the top on this bucketline dredge! who wouldn't want to part of that? once its moved and up-n-running , Tony could reap thousands of OZs over the years and not have to lift another finger! BUT he cant sit still and NOT do that! I cant wait to see it up-n-running myself! I remember on the ole gold fever show , ole Buzzard had his day with his bucketline dredge! I enjoyed watching that!

I noticed that the buckets seem to be missing off the bucket conveyor :icon_scratch:
That could be an expensive oversight if Tony doesn't have them stored somewhere.

GG~

It's interesting to watch how things get choreographed each and every episode for the show.

I found it interesting that they have to shoot insane hours of footage just to get enough for one episode.

I mean, in the real world of real mining, the process is often very mundane and repetitive, that is, until something breaks down, and then that's often far more stressful than what I would consider exciting or television worthy. Mining accidents? That's something no one wants to happen, for any reason.

You can do all of the stripping of overburden you want, all of the equipment repair and fabrication in the field imaginable, but to get to the fun zone, well, it's still the clean-up at the end of the run if you're on good gold, or on the other hand, if you're off the pay-streak, it's back to stress time again.

I find the show entertaining because of how the director spins things, and I view it for that entertainment purpose, simply as a form of escape entertainment, not a study in mining efficiency or technique. Lastly, the characters are oftentimes interesting simply because of their human interest value.

All the best,

Lanny

I'm with Lanny on this, take it all as entertainment :)

I watch Gold Rush for just a couple of things. First and foremost I love the clean outs and have even rewinded the DVR a couple of
times to watch that portion again. Parker is the second reason. I believe the show scripts what he says sometimes but for the
most part you won't find a kid his age working as hard as he does to achieve his dreams. Imagine 1,000 ounces in his first season, I
would quit and retire but he is re-investing and back at it again. And lastly I have fallen in love with Tony's wife. She is the one with
the pants in the family, not Tony! I loved the big dish of Gold he set on the desk when she said she didn't have any money, go do
a clean out. :laughing7: Somewhere I read that his networth is in excess of $15,000,000.00 cash + an additional 1,000 miles of claims
in that area to work. That is some serious cash.

I love the show for the clean outs and waiting to see Turd Head fail again. Sounds like he might make it this year......

type in, Uploads from Midi collection youtube
i watch them there otherwise i have to wait 1 year or so till they show it in tv around here.

I dont think HE got 1,000 ounces of profit... All those trucks and employees cost money. I dont know what he made that season himself but considering that it is his first season I'd say his extra expenses far out weighed his gains.
