I also saw it listed on eBay a while back. I bet they wished they never had Hoffman and Discovery on their claim now :BangHead:

I think it was planned. They were hoping to get the attention. Hoffman has the rep of not getting gold that is there to get sooo. You can push the succeed where toad failed narrative.

interesting to see that they have a 20 year plan approved.

Would be cool if barry made a fancy hi bar map

I am the guy who named him Toad!

In all my time here on TN, its my only claim to fame!:laughing7:

I'd guess 10-15% from the studies I've read. Sad.

That's crazy!!!!I don't know much about Gold mining but between the Grizzly bars and the fine material going to the sluice that's a few grams going back to mother nature ,I know you can get everything but extra weight on the scale is always welcome isn't.............it may had extra maintenance but It may worth it...............

In all reality, people have probably been calling him "toad" for a very long time, LOL :laughing7:

if you can trust the editing, it amazes me that the crew follows him.
all he does is tell someone to find a way to fix a problem, guesses at where to mine and says freakin all the time

I refer to him as turd

Should we start a new thread about parkers adventure? Maybe title it "a day of life In Ricks Backpack?" Lol

Turned it off when parker started into the "for grandpa" bullshit.

Why? Grandpa was the man! He was one of the best if not the best character on the show. Parker paying tribute to him is honorable. I'm sure many viewers would feel the same way. I can see turning it off when Toads preaching his failures.

I am sure everything that happens on that show is at the whim of the directors and the producers. I can always tell when it is time for a commercial the cut to some kind of manufactured "drama". (all "reality" shows do exactly the same thing. I wonder if the director calls out OK this scene is for a commercial break give me drama)

Yes it's one of those reality TV moments. Without drama all a person would see(less commercials) is 44min of moving dirt and 1min of cleanup in the end. Not everybody likes the show which is understandable. Real miners laugh at it which makes sense to me. Don't like it don't watch it.

No need to post or poke pun at Parker for missing his grandpa or wishing to pay tribute to him....Reality TV or not!

I'm a Grandpa to 13 grandchildren (so far), and would be honored if even one of them would pay me that type of respect after I'm gone.

GG~

Buddy only 13?? We have 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren! And I do give Parker a SALUTE for honoring his grandfather!

You guys make me feel young again! I'll be 54 on the 21st. I have 3 kids but no grandchildren yet. Son's 25, 2 daughters 21, 15

It's made up bullshit drama over an honorable man. Nothing about what they do on the show is honorable towards his memory.

I think you guys over-estimate the impact of the production crew on shows like Gold Rush or many other reality shows. Many of these shows will do a re-enactment of events but only if it already happened naturally but the camera crew missed it. Otherwise day in day out they are not scripting any scenes they are just editing the best parts of their hundreds of hours of footage and condensing it into a 40 minute episode.

Drama does actually happen in real life. I'm sure many of you have experienced it, hell there is even drama on this forum!

jcazgoldchaser if you really think Parker does not want to honor his grandpa and its all for the show I think you are being extremely cynical. It was pretty obvious that he cared for the man a lot. And I completely disagree the show does not honor him. The show is really a memorial to him considering how many hours he was on the show. His grandkids can watch the show and see what he was like. His family can watch the show to look back on memories of him. What is a dishonor to his memory exactly?

Anyways just my 2 cents.
