Tonight, another boring show. Toad second claim did not find enough gold, that is why he moved his crew to another state. The crew should really urine off when info, they do not get pay, if no gold is found, and that is what happen, not enough gold for the crew. I would had been long gone, if I was working for Toad. It was good to see Parker girlfriend playing with his nuggets again.

Oh My :laughing9: That last line is Forcing me to respond.
I haven't haven't been watching this year.
I just peek in here for an Update.
But That is just :laughing9:

seriously my decision to stop watching , appears to not be a mistake.

I wonder how much gold a guy could easily get if they went in after these crews have gone to bedrock and are done with a site ! with all the gold they are getting ,How much gold is left on the bedrock & cracks?? clean up the bedrock & cracks should be a EZ haul!

Ask the camera crew. I know if I was one of them I'd be poking around on the considered mined areas on my spare time.

I want a septic tank sucking truck.. Pretty much nothing but a giant crack vac on wheels.

Out in Dayton Nevada we used Bob Troops truck and worked EXREEMELY WELL but sure was work pressure washing it clean...still smelled like kaka though even after multiple washings and so did the cons. First fesces smelling gold I ever got-John

I'm not a big fan of Gold Rush to be honest and I hate it when people ask me if Gold Rush got me into panning and prospecting. Todd couldn't find gold even if he was in Fort Knox, Parker had a gold mine handed to him and Tony Beets is a hardass. The only miner I like is Freddy Dodge. If it weren't for Dave and Freddy, Todd would be more lost than Ray Charles in the Amazon. Maybe they should stop praying for riches and pray to become better miners. If you don't know the geology and the layout of the land, praying won't get you very far. I've heard from Jimmy Dorsey that the show is scripted anyways. Who says that they don't plant gold in the sluices or on the scales to make the producers happy?

One thing that bugs me is that a lot of times when they are weighing up their gold, Its all exactly the same size.. Its like they just got a big bag of
30 mesh and keep reusing it.

Unless you are Tony Beets, in which case its half gold and half black sand.

Once again Parker sets the standard the others don't meet. They should make the show about him only.

Anyone else surprised how fat Tony's other son is? I mean, Todd it makes sense, he does no work. But this kid works for his dad full time and is obese.

Toad never makes sense, and I agree that he does no work. He enjoy giving out orders.

He is also extremely literate as degrees in computer science, I believe, was the subject back east in school he accomplished. Work like a madman(see Tony) and drink like a fish( as that magnum went down his gullet mostly) hahaha. Good talented, intelligent ,hard working, 2 fisted and one hell of a truck driving computer specialist. KUDOS-John

People who only operate equipment are not gold miners.Prospecting, sampling, driving a tunnel or adit..sinking a shaft or winze.,knowing basic geology.putting up a raise in the back, timbering, drilling and blasting,Knowing what tools to use and when to use them.Being able to estimate the gold per yard or ton.knowing how to set your water flow and elevation in a sluice. These among many other things make a real miner.Perhaps there are a few hundred left in our country, perhaps not.If you've ever known one you savvy the above.

There may be a few more than you think Dave. :occasion14:

LOL, I actually went to a mining/engineering school in South Dakota when I was in the Air Force. The "South Dakota School of Mines & Technology". Mining Engineering and Management

I'm a computer engineer though.

Perhaps I'm generalizing.Yes there are many grads of mining schools, but how many are actual miners and do that for a living and have done or do all that I mentioned or forgot to write about? What percentage of those mining school grads actually work at a gold mine..and then out of those how many do the old fashioned mining jobs on a regular basis?Since most gold mining is done in open pits these days alot of those grads likely have never worked underground or had to acquire every old time skill. My friend Bart Hanford is a grad of The Colorado school of mines and has worked in many different types of mines and yet he has every old time mining skills and most of the new ones, including owning and operating equipment. He's still working underground here in the California motherlode area at 69 years of age.

Terry Soloman,Yes,all these mining engineering grads have taken and passed the classes. But how many actually have in field experience in the old time skills and do this on a daily basis.

Wonder how many who graduated from Cal Berkeley are actual miners? No offence intended to those who actually are miners. Just sayin it seems to be a pretty kooky school.

Though I know what you are saying.
I would call the Guy operating equipment at a mining operation more of a Miner,
then the Guy sitting in the Office Hiring, making the big bucks & Writing checks.
at least around here in the coal mines, if you handle some type of equipment
other then a pen, your a miner in my eyes

When you get into the realm of geology a formal education would be the ticket. Or you could go to the school of hard knocks like I have and not know much, but at least remember what you learned. An easier way is learning from the wealth of info gathered off the forums from the experienced miners and apply it saving those hard knocks!

Just sayin' Dave, not arguing. Old School Hard Rock Mining is a dying art.:occasion14:
