I was trying to edit the post and messed it all up.

My original post was that I see that someone hits the motherload. I am saying I hope it is Parker or the Hoffmans and not Dakota Fred.

The show based on the how they edit it has Dakota Fred rubbing me the wrong way. Fred told the producer that the show makes him look like someone who is only out for himself but he is really a nice guy. My idea of a nice guy would have lent parker the electrical panel. However he did claim it was his "partner" who wanted $10k for the panel (or was it Fred?)

The Hoffmans seem to make all kinds of mistakes and bad decisions, and Parker is impulsive, but he is only 17!

Still I hope it is either of them, but at the same time if it is Fred, well good for him, I wish it where me! Maybe the next time on the river I will hit a pocket for a hundred ounces!

Good old TV. Would people watch if there wasn't any drama?

There is drama in gold mining. No need to add BS. Look at Fred and Parker. A lot of problems each day. Mining is hard for the men and for the machines. And where there are group of people, there are problems. Todd is gone too far. We can see that he is not totally invested in mining. Fred and Parker work hard because they want to succeed. Todd doesn't seems to care. he is sitting, talking, giving orders, doing bad decisions. people doesn't want to see that kind of behaviour.

And it's only drama to the outside observer. The difference between us watching it on tv and Dave being there is Dave is a part of it. He wouldn't see the ins and outs (like his argument with Todd over expanding cut 1) as drama. To him it's part of the job, an argument with the team "leader."

I'm a big fan of military movies. Band of brothers blew my mind. And as I watch this show I'm starting to think of Todd as foxhole Norman haha. Never around when he's needed, making bad decisions, and relying on everyone else to hold it together. When this season ends I will be surprised if Dave doesn't seek investors by himself.

.

Are you really oblivious to the fact that MOST of that "drama" is staged and rehearsed for the cameras? Why do you think people like Parker so much more? They are just filming him running a gold mine.

Not oblivious. I just believe that though they may have been steered into these situations, the editing makes it into more of a fish story. And I don't believe Dave and his crew were necessarily "willing" participants at first. I noticed they only got camera time during cleanups and break downs.

Guys, lived in my Alaska my entire life, know a few people involved - it is television. Ratings require drama. Real mining run well does not have enough so it has to be added. The producers do not care about anyone making money mining - the advertisers pay the bills. I give credit to Todd for coming up with the concept and selling it to the TV people. He has hit the mother lode alright, and it is not gold mining. It is you watching the show. Not my cup of tea though.

There are more of these shows in the works. The producers literally put out casting calls looking for "characters". I have an opportunity to put one in myself right now. Part of me really rebels at it, but part of me tells me maybe I could suck it up and look like an idiot on TV for enough money also. Obviously Todd has got over it - laughing all the way to the bank!

Go for it Steve!
You have to strike while the iron is hot. Once the producers move on to the next big promotion you will have missed the chance of a lifetime.
Plenty of wannabe's cant even get their reality show treatment looked at let alone be scouted as talent.

Wishing you all the best in your endeavor,
GG~

Here we go another nail biting night wishing I could be there .

Lol!
Must admit drama or not I'd rather watch a mining show than some of the other crap on tv!

Tonight they said that Parker may have found the old channel and may have found the motherlode, I hope so, with a small crew like Fred, he is working flat out.

Go Parker

I'm with ya there's not many kids like him !
Don't believe i could keep up with him ,he has one hell of a engine

Sooo ya think Fred is gonna try TNT on the glory hole :tongue3:

Todd saved the day by doing the obvious and got 200 ounces from Quartz Creek. Still think the obvious now is to dig and run the material from the settling ponds at Indian and Quartz Creek Probably another 100 ounces or more that was lost off the sluices.

GG~

Cant beat the experience that Parkers G-pa has. He took one look and saw where Parker went wrong.

Can't wait next weeks the end thou
Can't figure how there gona run live thou ? Surely there not up there this time of,year

My guess is it is a two hour show, and the first hour will be the last videos recorded of the season, and the second half will be the tally and like after show. JMHO

Ahhh
Well I can't wait

Question: what would be a better option, break down Big Red and move it to Quartz Creek, or just keep digging and hauling from QC to where Big Red stands now? It's time vs. gallons of fuel at this point.
