Arizona - Is there any other state worth visiting
Detector(s) used
Fisher Gold Bug Pro, Nokta FORS Gold, Garrett ATX, Sun Ray Gold Pro Headphones, Royal Pick, Etc.
Primary Interest:
Prospecting
So I decided to run 35 gallons of 1/2" screened dirt I had saved from my last trip southeast of Tucson. I setup my new 12" x 60" x 4" sluice that's outfitted with Gold Hog Mats. The pump was nearly running a max flow of which is 8000GPH but I have throttled down from the 2" NPT to 1-1/2" ID nipple so the flow is less. The sluice was setup with a drop of 1.5" per foot or 10 degrees. I was very excited to run sluice for the second time as I ran the sluice one other time. I was feeding the sluice at a very face rate. As you can see the Gold Hog Mats retained the fine gold as well as large gold. I have yet to rerun the paydirt but will soon. I will provide a link to the videos once they have been processed.

Looking good!

The first run of paydirt that I shot the video on page 1 of this thread here is the small gold that was captured that I did not bother to clean out until today. That is a single staple used in your home or office. When I look back at the video the angle on the sluice, the water speed, and the amount of dirt I was dumping the Gold Hog Mats captured some really small gold down my 5 ft. sluice. Photos can be enlarged to 1500x843.

Nice build AZ.

And...Go Cats! I hope Arizona kicks some basketball butt this year in March Madness!

I remember years ago when Steve Kerr was playing there. After he made a 3 pointer, the announcer would say "Steve Kerr" and then the crowd would respond "STEEEVE KERRRR". Hope Wildcat basketball gets back to the glory years and helps bring the Pac12 back.

Now, where were we...Nice build AZ...nice build.

I am native to Tucson... Attended all those games back with Steve Kerr set a season high NCAA 3pt percentage recorded of 57.3%. My sister closed a home for Steve and I have a sign basketball from 1988 final four team. When Steve was a freshman at U/A (1984) Steve's father was assassinated while serving as president of the American University of Beirut. It was that day of his fathers death that U/A was to play ASU (Sun Devils) in Phoenix. Steve decided to play, as Steve walked out on the court the pro Sun Devil crowd started taunting Steve yellowing out, "Hey Steve Your Dad Died" "Hey Steve Your Dad Died" "Hey Steve Your Dad Died". This caused a huge uprising in the rivalry between the two schools that continues today when the schools play each other. Devil fans showed their true colors that day. So you can see I am a HUGE U/A fan...
