Hi all,

I've been working the park hard where I found the huge Silver Cross 3 weeks back, lots of clad, no more bling, but I did get an I-Phone in the playground which I returned to the owner.
So today, I had a short 2 hours to hunt because the wife was to go to work at 9.00am. Decided to go the park just down the road to see if there were recent losses. I have thrashed this park, but today I was proven wrong on how well I had worked it over.
Went to the same area by the basketball court which I have searched many times before, but today I got a good 10 06 reading. Thought okay this has to be a nickel, or a pull tab. So I dug my plug, used my pinpointer which went nuts. Using my hands to break the plug the Cross appeared. When pulling the Cross out, the chain came along as well, still attached, and hooked together like it came off over someones head.
This is the weirdest religious cross I have found. A crucifix on an anchor ??? Put it in my pouch, and continued with on what little time I had. Got home, and started counting my clad when the wife came into the garage to see what I had found. I showed her the Cross, and chain which was really dull in color, and continued counting. Total $3.57.
She said there are markings on the cross, and chain. 14K :o I couldn't believe it. I cleaned it in soapy water, and later weighed it. It came to 1oz. I do not have a grams scale, but it came up good on my digital postal scale.
This item definitely needs a clean, and sorry the photo's aren't good, but I'm starting to go cross-eyed at 12pm at night. I couldn't get a good photo of the 14k mark on the cross.

HH everyone.

Neet find, any idea how iold it may be?
Its cool that the chain is made to look like anchor chains.
I think its modern, going to have it cleaned to repost. I polished one link, and it looks real nice

Thought I would add a photo of this item after being cleaned. Definitely 14k after being checked by a jeweler. Hope the photo turns out.

Happy hunting!!

Excellent find way to go!!!!!!!!! :icon_thumright:

So nice! The rose on the bottom of the cross looks pink. Any chance this cross is Black Hills Gold in the different pink/green/gold colors? Beautiful. Congrats! -Noodle

Yes it black hills gold on the rose, and Jesus. Plus if you look at the chain, it is there as well. Thanks for the reply.

Hate to put a damper on this beautiful find, but have you tried to find the owner?
This was down 3 inches in the ground, and if you came to Stockton, you would probably understand why attempts would be futile. The area I found it in is gang infested, but I did check Craigslist in the lost & found with no luck. Class rings are a lot easier to find their owners than items like this.

I have seen greek sailors wearing the same thing! Id reckon its from the Med.
