Smokey n I have been smokin" em with some great finds. We hit up her permission and beat up a productive spot. I started with a civil war era button. I haven't got an ID but South Carolina was suggested. Next to that I got the bullet on the right. I believe its a Sharps. Then I got a minnie ball and a bunch of coal and junk. I was using the Deus HF at 28 and/ or 74 kz. I got into a few more modern bullets. 22 caliber were ringing up 82 and 45 caliber higher. I even got an unfired 30 ot. I thought I had one more 22 bullet until i flipped the plug and saw this beauty looking up at me! No mint mark so Philadelphia but a big bucket lister for how tiny it is! The Deus really stepped my game up this week in some iron sites I had beat up previously with the Nox. My Nox is a little upset she hasn't been out of the trunk for the past few hunts but I feel like I am clicking with the Deus right now. Obviously i did my gold dance although I have to admit I am a little out of practice after a dismal beach season. I am pretty darn excited and feel like I really stepped up a level in my treasure finding!

Great Job , as I was wondering what year it was minted .

Congratz!
On the Banner Gold find & Man I'd love to have a chance to hunt with smokey .

Thanks for reminding me how small that gold coin really is.

For those that have never been privileged enough to handle one of these coins... can you upload a side view next to a dime so we can get an idea of the thickness?

The the decision makers at TNet. Please update the banner photo to show the close up of the coin?

Thanks

Thanks so much for everyone's help on getting my first banner! These coins are tiny. I wonder how many I walked by or skipped digging in my previous hunts. I'll get that side view next to a dime for comparison.

Congratulations on the banner.

Tommy don't leave us hanging..I want more photos.

TommyBuckets, one word, Banner all the way! I was glad to be there when you dug that much coveted and sought after Gold coin among relic hunters. :icon_thumleft:

Great find. I have dug a ton of quality relics but never a gold coin

BTW Tommy is great to hunt with! I even make him dig holes for me sometimes! We have a few good sites left, however, this one is almost petered out and I may not even hit it in the spring. Time to look for more places.

Congratulations. Nice hunt.:icon_thumright:
