Oh my goodness gracious! I totally forgot what day it is! To all of my Tnet friends, Happy Valentine's Day! :love1:

Ok,........

My good friend Mike Anglie told me that when he was young, with long hair down his back, he and some of his buddies went there and had a fantastic time.

Push ahead some decades, he wanted to show that beautiful area to his wife and two daughters, both about 20 years old.

He saves up,..... and they go,.......

They arrive and the one daughter had got bit by something on her left cheek,.........
So Michael ask at the hotel, "where is the doctor?"

The guy ask Michael, "what kind of doctor?, regular doctor?, natural doctor?, witch doctor?"
So Michael says, "regular doctor".

The guy gives him directions,...... and it's a house, they knock, door opens, the place smells great,
the family is sitting having dinner.
Michael says, "we can come back in a bit", the doctor wouldn't have that at all.

Doctor ask, "what's wrong?",.... Michael points to his daughters swollen cheek,.......

Doctor has a look,... says, "ahhh",..... off he goes to another room, comes back with 6 pills.
Says to take one in the morning and one at night until they are gone.

Michael thanks him, and ask,..... "how much?"

The doctor says 20,..... Michael thinks it's expensive, so he ask, "American or Belize"

Doctor says, "Belize",..... which is equal to $10 in American.

After one day the insect bite was almost gone, by day two,... completely gone.

The food and beer are wonderful and very reasonable cost, and everyone is very friendly.

There are two universities there, one there not far from town, the other is off shore
on an island. That university is a world renown marine biology university.

So, everywhere are students,....... everyone is walking around barefoot, the streets are white
sand and everyone is wearing shorts or swimsuits with a wrap around.

"Every" night, till late, there is music and singing, people milling about, laughing and having a good time.

He took the family to see the structures, ruins, and sights to see,..... Michael said at all times,....
"ever present",...... well armed military were always driving here and there, and were stationed
at the tourist spots around the clock.

His idea was this,........

"Everything was perfect",...... except one thing,........

There wasn't any "guacamole!",..... it just wasn't there!

So the plan was to gear up and be prepared for the super bowl weekend, have plenty of food
from local vendors,.... and get the guacamole and chips thing rolling.

All those students,.... open a place, call it "Guac and Croc",......

Serve crocodile and guacamole,.......

I'm still fine tuning some of these ideas,........

That is all I remember

The people are very friendly there. A lot of drugs that cost an arm and a leg here, plus a prescription needed, are dirt cheap and over the counter there.

People are almost always barefoot or in sandals.

Food is always cooking! I didn't hear about eating croc, but the concierge/bartender carried on about how great iguana was, but it is illegal to eat them. IDK what is up about that.

I don't think I said it,

Sis, can you think of a better way to have your beach cleaned for FREE than telling people you have seeded it ? Can you say " To u r i s t s " 8-)

It is a beautiful looking place and I can just hear the waves lapping the beach. So peaceful. :notworthy:

Funny you should mention that. Noah, the maintenance manager kept trying to get us ladies to take shells home. This island was ransacked by a hurricane. I don't remember which one. It was a mess. This guy bought it, sold off some shares to a developer. They pretty much scraped the entire island, leaving only a few trees around the shoreline of the island. Then they had to bring sand in. It is littered with coral and shells. Not soft walking at all yet. They just officially opened in August, but there is still a lot of fine tuning to do. I don't know if you remember me talking about this last year, but, this is the place we were supposed to have the "soft opening" for, but didn't happen because the construction crew got called off to repair another, bigger resort that was damaged by a hurricane. Anyways, we still got to go because they haven't quite got the staff situation down, and wanted honest critiques.

I do remember you telling about the "Soft Opening". Is it a large place ?
From the pics it looks like Bart could fly by, ( in his boat ), and his wake would completely cover the island from one side to another ?

Only 2-1/2 acres.

I'm having a hard time keeping my eyelids open. I'm calling it a night. It was good talking to you, Simon and Rusty.

Good night.

Good night Sis and pleasant dreams

and NO

those Unicorns are :icon_scratch:

I have thought of Unicorns as more feminine :dontknow: Sorry, I will have to find one. ( I think that one of "Unicorn" on Don Jose's thread more in line ) Just my opinion though.
