community3.JPG This beach here on the right, supposedly the guy that organized this trip, seeded it with coins. IDK. All I was digging up was nails and screws from the construction and I told my other friend that I could dig that crap up at home. So I quit that spot (I didn't know he had planted coins there). Never got back to it, so they are still there. :tongue3:

Finds1.JPG I only had my new Xpointer to work with. I found that nut and the old dock bolt with it. The rest of the stuff was eyeball finds when all the girls were cleaning the shores. Yes, that is a vile of blood. One of my friends got stuck by a needle, also. It is ridiculous how much trash was there from the ocean. We picked up several small trash bags full and then 2 55 gallon bags of trash. The staff kept telling us we didn't have to do that, it was their job. But we told them it was part of the treasure hunting code. We were fine.

So one of the staff, Cory, asked me what types of things I was looking for. I rattled off a few things. One of which was sea glass. He asked me about that and I explained. It just so happened that I spied a piece of glass at the time. I said, " Like this, except this one isn't done yet." Then I pretended to through it back over my shoulder. LOL. He was a little surprised and said, "No, no, no!" and tried to go after it. I laughed and showed him I still had it in my hands. I guess you had to be there. It was funny. This is Cory. He found a jellyfish and showed us.

Then I did find a piece of glass that had been tumbled by the sea and showed it to him.

Hey WD,..... do you want me to tell what I know about that area?

Hey WD,..... do you want me to tell what I know about that area?

Sure!

Ok,........

My good friend Mike Anglie told me that when he was young, with long hair down his back, he and some of his buddies went there and had a fantastic time.

Push ahead some decades, he wanted to show that beautiful area to his wife and two daughters, both about 20 years old.

He saves up,..... and they go,.......

They arrive and the one daughter had got bit by something on her left cheek,.........
So Michael ask at the hotel, "where is the doctor?"

The guy ask Michael, "what kind of doctor?, regular doctor?, natural doctor?, witch doctor?"
So Michael says, "regular doctor".

The guy gives him directions,...... and it's a house, they knock, door opens, the place smells great,
the family is sitting having dinner.
Michael says, "we can come back in a bit", the doctor wouldn't have that at all.

Doctor ask, "what's wrong?",.... Michael points to his daughters swollen cheek,.......

Doctor has a look,... says, "ahhh",..... off he goes to another room, comes back with 6 pills.
Says to take one in the morning and one at night until they are gone.

Michael thanks him, and ask,..... "how much?"

The doctor says 20,..... Michael thinks it's expensive, so he ask, "American or Belize"

Doctor says, "Belize",..... which is equal to $10 in American.

After one day the insect bite was almost gone, by day two,... completely gone.

The food and beer are wonderful and very reasonable cost, and everyone is very friendly.

There are two universities there, one there not far from town, the other is off shore
on an island. That university is a world renown marine biology university.

So, everywhere are students,....... everyone is walking around barefoot, the streets are white
sand and everyone is wearing shorts or swimsuits with a wrap around.

"Every" night, till late, there is music and singing, people milling about, laughing and having a good time.

He took the family to see the structures, ruins, and sights to see,..... Michael said at all times,....
"ever present",...... well armed military were always driving here and there, and were stationed
at the tourist spots around the clock.

His idea was this,........

"Everything was perfect",...... except one thing,........

There wasn't any "guacamole!",..... it just wasn't there!

So the plan was to gear up and be prepared for the super bowl weekend, have plenty of food
from local vendors,.... and get the guacamole and chips thing rolling.

All those students,.... open a place, call it "Guac and Croc",......

Serve crocodile and guacamole,.......

I'm still fine tuning some of these ideas,........

That is all I remember

We are going back. Most definately! I already have a plan for retiring there. :laughing9:

What's going on Simon?

I'm jealous WD... Did you come back with any treasure? Or rum flavored Mtn. Dew for me and GB?:laughing7:

=======

RR, we spent time in Cancun a few years ago, the MAIN drawback for me was NO PLACE, and I mean NO PLACE had Mountain Dew. I suffered severe headaches the first couple days because of the withdrawal of Mountain Dew. Immense pain I can assure you, but I still enjoyed the setting. When we got back to the states, I had broken my addiction to Mountain Dew. It is still my favorite, but I no-longer drink 8-12 bottles a day. ( Yep, it was seriously addictive to me ).

Simon
I've heard about the Mountain Dew addiction. I'm about the same way for Snapple Sorta Sweet tea when I can find it. Amazon has it and Kroger orders it for me.. It's Purdy darn good.

Sis, can you think of a better way to have your beach cleaned for FREE than telling people you have seeded it ? Can you say " T o u r i s t s " 8-)

It is a beautiful looking place and I can just hear the waves lapping the beach. So peaceful. :notworthy:

Tom and I use that excuse all the time when people come to visit our island. We just don't tell them what it is seeded with. Our beach is almost pristine, the cave, on the other hand......................not so pristine. Darn gang writing on the walls :BangHead:
