What a day, I took leave today from my job and went North to PA to dig with a friend on a permission my friend has South of Gettysburg, PA. Early in the month I dug my first Block I and was hoping for another Rebel button. My second target at no more than 3 inches down I dig a buckle. After looking at the mud caked tonit and seeing the 2 prongs pointing downward I stared in disbelief as I just dug my first Georgia frame buckle in very good condition; just a little bent . My 3rd target at nearly 6 inches down was a two piece button and when I poured water I knew I had recovered only my 2nd Virginia State seal, but this one is pristine.

My Equinox 800 sniffed out both targets in heavily mineralized northern PA soil. Stuff is out there but you have to take your time and slow down. Happy Hunting !😀

Wow, the button alone made a super day, with the Georgia frame buckle, that made it a STELLAR day! On my wish-list to someday dig.

WoW .. That's fantastic! Well done, Relichound! :hello2:

Some very nice CW history saves. I'd be back there sniffing some more....Congrats!!

Really nice buckle & button, they both look awesome, congratulations on the saves

That's insane! Confederate buckles and buttons in one hunt just doesn't happen these days.

Congrats on the nice relics! :icon_thumleft:

Sound's like you were in my neighborhood!! Excellent save there RH :icon_thumleft: Bucketlister in my book.

Totally a jackpot! I took Wayne to my site, we went to a spot no one had bothered to hunt before. It's a BIG farm! When he got the buckle I was sitting about 15' away in my car, couldn't dig due to a nasty cold, I didn't want to get sicker. He thought it was a horsie buckle and when he finally got close enough for me to see it, I nearly freaked out.

Three items were in close proximity to each other. Then there were 4 hours of no good targets, just trash and iron, then he moved to another field and got the Williams and another brass object. He also got a lot of very, very old forged iron items. Lots. And pieces of the exploded modern tractor we knew were in that one field, guess that's why nobody wants to hunt it.

And tomorrow, another one of my sites 100 miles in the opposite direction. Found a hut and need help digging it out. I hate going by myself anymore.

It was very exciting! I think he's still in shock!

Awesome CW finds, love the frame buckle!

I wish bottles! I can get permission from the owner to run a ground penetrating radar unit in the camp. They are pretty inexpensive to rent, but it's not really my style. They like me because my holes aren't deep (and I carefully fill them in and tastefully decorate with limbs and leaves.)

Owner in VA was impressed I took so much broken glass and trash off his property.

Wow beautiful button and awesome buckle! Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Can never ever thank you enough my friend across the border in allowing me to save some Confederate brass! Looking forward to hunting with you again soon!

The Bullets would put a big smile on my face. Congratz again on some fine relics.
