While I was out at my local auction house Friday, came across this Garrett, it's from around '93-'95. Couldn't find anyone with a definitive price on it. It had headphones, takes 8 AA batteries and had a screen weather guard. A few people were wanting it. I threw 110$ at it and won. Anyone know anything about this particular model? Or know if it was a good find. Regardless, I'm happy:laughing7: I was just wondering if it's a nice detector, and if the price was good. Some other sites said it listed at $1200.00 back in '93. Any input is very appreciated!

I swung a gtax1250 for years.yours was its predecessor I believe. If it works anything like mine its a very capable detector.I would have been happy to pick it up.

It's pretty good. Today,I took her out for a test swing in my in-laws backyard... few feet in and I think maybe someone ran over some chicken wire with a lawnmower! LOL Found a rusted screw, and a couple feet of wire. (In broken pieces) it's skit more complicated than the bounty Hunter I had! Obviously... but it's looking like I can get the hang of it. Big change in equipment. There's a few hundred yards of sidewalk and road excavated down the street from me here. Saw a guy md'ing a few days ago, so I'm glad I kept bidding on this one. The ground out here is alloy different than where I'm from.lots Of minerals in the ground. The manual for this md is kinda on the skimpy side of a comic... getting used to this thing might be harder than my old physics class! Plus running without headphones proves near-impossible, it's sooooo quiet. Any other hints, tips, or recommendations gladly welcomed! -Metalman

If you would put this down under ..the metal detecting forum ..under brands.. then Garrett .. You will get a lot more answers...
