Well, made me a new garden last year literally ten feet from my back door. My house is on top of an old house site, so every time I till up I find at least two marbles, few thirties wheaties, other odds an ends. Today was a lil surprise, walking round lookin after I tilled up an found this

1889 penny! Was really in bad shape when I found it, but a lil rubbing an cleaning it turned out ok. Can't wait to till again, tried detecting in this area alot, just too much trash. Been a house site my whole life plus at least eighty years more.

I would dig until my hands hurt. Every signal until my yard was empty, ha lol. Nice find, there has to be other old coins mixed and masked in all that trash. Nice find, something about those Indians I really like. Good luck, I hope you start digging and show us more.

Nice surprise find!

Thanks! Yea, I have been detecting. I've filled up three five gallon buckets of coke bottle tops, beer cans, sardine cans, lots of other junk. So definitely after this one I'm pumped now. Now just to wait for weather to get better, and ill be hittin it hard

Now that's refreshing. Looks exactly like the Indian heads I find. I'm tires of seeing pristine ones that look like they just fell out of a coin book yesterday that someone found detecting.. LoL.. Great find.

Hell, it's 18 degrees here now. Two days ago it was 68. Mississippi weather is f'd up. Tilled when it was almost seventy, now there's snow two miles from me two inches deep. I never even snowed here. Too cold to detect, with ten mph winds makin it feel 8 degrees aaaahhh I'm ready for spring

Ya know, since this is your own yard and you dig it up anyway, how about setting up a screen and being a "hutsitedigger" for a bit? Just dig a patch, down a a couple feet and screen everything. Just a thought.

Nice IH!

Good thought, I've actually been thinking about that. Think I can talk my wife into it! Lol

It's 12 degrees here....snow on the ground!!! Not normal in Alabama or Mississippi.

What kinda tiller do you use.....??? Might go get one. Mine only finds rocks:laughing7:

Thats awesome to me.I have said it before and will say it again.Iam dying to find a indian head penny..

Got me a husquavarna pretty good one. Lol, only rocks here where I live is in twenty foot deep creeks. Yea it's 20 degrees now.

Yea man it was a definite surprise, my second one. Found a 1909 up in Virginia but somebody had shot it. Was in good shape other than being bent. I put it in a vice an straightened it up.

Ha, talk about cleaning up nice.

My little gardens only gave me a Chuck E Cheese token, lol. 20 degrees is perfectly acceptable detecting weather here, lol. If you can dig, go to it! Congrats on the IH. I hope to find one this year.
