A while back I bought some rolls of 1/2 dollars from my bank to try my luck at coin roll hunting. I didn't have any luck on the few rolls I bought, and have been spending them off and on to get rid of them.
During two different times, I found out that today's youth has no idea what these coins even are, which cracked me up.
Last week I stopped at Arby's and my total was $5.45. I gave the kid a $5 bill and a 1/2 dollar coin. Instead of giving me back 5 cents, he gave back .55 cents, because I guess he thought it was a dollar coin.
Last night I took my son to see a movie. I bought my popcorn and soda and gave the kid my money including a 1/2 dollar.
He looks it over puzzled, and then asks me "what kind of money is this?"
I think I may go out and buy some more 1/2 dollars or even better yet, the new smaller dollar coins to see what kind of responses I get.
