I love my Miata, I get 25 mph in town and 30-312 on highway if I dont drive it like a race car, which I usually do speed shifting and all so on hwy I usually get 28-29..... Wife and I have a 2008 Taurus if we want to go somewhere with room and also have the detector mini van, but if it is just me and Im not going detecting I am dr,iving the Miata with the top down and the stereo rocking...

Hey TH there is a kit out there that you can dump a stroker 383 in that Miata Talk about a roller skate on steroids. Blows the doors off those lib machines. freaks em out to:laughing7:

I love my 2010 Wrangler! It's still stock complete with steel wheels. Darn factory tires are still wearing down so I don't have the heart to throw them away. Soon it will get some real rims and tires and maybe even a small lift. But my all time favorite is my old Dodge diesel. Over 400,000 miles and still going strong! And still gets about 21 mpg consistently!

Thought some might get a kick out of this...

Jerseyben says: "the Prius hybrid and other hybrid vehicles really "fall short", IMO.

The best value/best mpg vehicle, IMO, is the Toyota Yaris (5 speed). MPG is better than some hybrids.."

We drive a 2008 Yaris, 5 speed. Get 43-44 mpg. consistantly - city and highway. We have 210,000 miles on it. Original clutch, 1 brake job, 4 sets of tires and NO other work. Also no batteries to get rid of as in the Prius and other hybrids. When you buy the hybrids, they don't tell you that it costs about $1,500 per battery to replace them and in the Prius there are 8 of them! Give me my Yaris any day...better for the environment than all those spent batteries hitting the landfills (yes I know they try to recapture some of the lead, etc).

JMO,
Anita

P.S. Also have a Hyundai Elentra (2001) with 155,000 miles and a Jeep Grand Cherokee (2000) with 110,000 miles. The Yaris is our #1 car and we wouldn't hesitate to buy another. One other thing...my husband is 6'5" and fits comfortably in the 3 door (hatchback) Yaris, but can't fit in the Prius because of the post between the front and rear doors!

I drove a 5 speed Yaris for 4 years. Best car I ever owned (not my favorite, but still the best). Barely put a dime into it, never had a problem.

I drive cross-country quite often and I like having the power and room of a slightly larger vehicle. If I did a lot of city driving a small car would be the wiser choice but I need the room and power in the mountains.

the death of 13 people didn't mean that much to me, as long as I can discuss mileage on my favorite vehicle. Heck, it don't matter much if Virginia Tech, Columbine, or the Navy Yard happen every day as long as no one has to face the fact that America has become a crazy place to live.

What about the death of 4 Americans in Benghazi.....?

To many those four don't matter as it doesn't further their agenda...

I would think that you, yes----you-----would want to go to Washington D.C. and file criminal charges against anyone involved in the coverup TH. It's your right and your duty to do so. To do less would be remiss on your part and allow further misdeeds. Or you could call your congress critter and tell them to file charges and to bomb Lybia back into the stone age to avenge those four deaths.

Or you could spend hours on TNet moderating

Your call.

Dave I have contacted multiple congressional reps stating that opinion.

My point was you expressed concern for those killed in Navy Yard, where was your concern on those killed in Benghazi?
