Fletch, the Prius hybrid and other hybrid vehicles really "fall short", IMO.

The best non-conventional vehicle that I have even considered buying is the Nissan Leaf because it is 100% electric and has a fairly decent range when compared to its price (if evaluating strictly based on value).

The best value/best mpg vehicle, IMO, is the Toyota Yaris (5 speed). MPG is better than some hybrids and besides being relatively small, the sedan is the same as most other economy cars but costs between $12k-15k. You can get a used one for $6-7k.

Not sure what your financial situation is like, but if I could afford one, I would be driving a Tesla. All electric, fast, sporty, and got rave reviews by many testers. What more could you want?

I don't understand bum......is just saying the word "black" an insult or pointing out a fact or mostly accurate fact an insult? That's the problem with this country, we have to be pc no matter the cost, even if we lose the truth. Put on blinders and ignore the truth, facts, and lies. If Bloomberg says an AR-15 is a weapon you can just hold the trigger down and fire 100 rounds we have to pretend to believe him because the truth isn't politically correct. To say there is MASS welfare fraud being committed by the so-called poor isn't politically correct so don't bring it up although it's true. Yes, these problems existed in past administrations but we now have welfare on steroids. Not a pc statement but it's true.

I still like my Pontiac Grand Prix with the 3.8 V6. Plenty of room and tons of power. 31mpg if I stay around 70 on the freeway. Much safer than a Prius and suits my macho image as well.

I love my Miata, I get 25 mph in town and 30-312 on highway if I dont drive it like a race car, which I usually do speed shifting and all so on hwy I usually get 28-29..... Wife and I have a 2008 Taurus if we want to go somewhere with room and also have the detector mini van, but if it is just me and Im not going detecting I am dr,iving the Miata with the top down and the stereo rocking...

I've always had a truck until 2 months ago. I'm tired of being a slave to the gas pump. I sold truck and bought a used Accord, that I'm giving to my daughter in 18 months. I like the room of the Prius and 50 miles per gallon. I must admit they're pretty ugly, but very roomy.

Same here, especially illegal turns from the far lane becasue they are too lazy to drive a block down the street and turn around, or block a lane to make illegal turn.....
