In case you don't already know:
Your button is a "Great Seal" US Army button, and because it does not have a raised rim encircling its brass front, yours dates from 1902 to 1910. It cannot be any earlier than that, because the US Army first adopted the "Great Seal of The United States" as its primary insignia-emblem in 1902.
