Found this in a field I pulled a 1723 Hibernia outa,What is it??????HELP!!!!!!!!

I recon if a 1723 coin came outa there this has to be OLD too.Not magnetic,It looks as if it might have been poured,outer rim has those cut marks all the way around,giving me the impression they where cut while the piece was hot.You boys gotta nuf smarts among ya to figger thisun out!WHAT IS IT?

Wow SS all I can say is Wow. I think you are way off base with me and my thoughts....To tell you the truth I don't ever look to see where someone is from...I am color and flag blind. I could care the least if you are from Texas or Timbucktoo....you are part of the human race and that is all that matters. Just because someone agrees with someone does not mean that they are against you...in fact I like several people across the pond and sometimes catch some real flack for it...you see I can not help the fact that there was a War or two...I was not part of it. Don't know why you keep having a dig, I have a right to say I don't believe it's a gear/washer. The pictures you posted look nothing like the item, infact the item posted looks like it's made of lead. But hey as your used to finding cr@p, guess you would know more about it.

I've only had time to research this for a few minutes, but I found the picture below which is of a newer lock washer, and described as having ...

"External Teeth"

I'm not sure how an "oldtime one" might work, and whether only one was used at a time, or if two of them were placed together with the teeth locking into each other, but it may be an avenue worth looking into. I'll be back if I find an "oldtime" one that matches the one in question.
